Do you like playing games on your phone in your spare time?
Do you want to make money while you’re playing these games?
Then you should check out the Coin Pop app.
Coin Pop is a money-making app that rewards you for playing different games through their app platform.
It’s only available to download on Android.
Currently, there’s no app available for iOS as the Coin Pop company is strictly an Android developer company.
Do be careful though, there is an app on the iTunes store called “Coin Pop – Covered in Kitties” that is not related to the Coin Pop app that I’m reviewing here.
That iTunes app is for children, mainly girls, and is created by a Japanese company.
There seems to be a Coin Pop app download available for Windows according to a Google Search, but doing a proper search in the Microsoft Store did not show a Coin Pop app available.
So, I’d be very wary of that Windows download.
Let’s get started and I will explain all about this great cash-making app.

What is Coin Pop?
Coin Pop is a free reward program app that pays its users for downloading and playing various games.
Coin Pop was released in March 2018 and has over 5 million downloads worldwide.
The average rating that 115,863 users have given this app is 4.3 stars out of 5 stars on Google Play.
You simply download the app, choose a game you want to download from their suggestions and play as you normally would.
Coin Pop works in the background of that game app and rewards you coins for the amount of time you play.
Thus, the more you play, the more you can earn and then can redeem for a variety of payout options.
How to Get Started
Here’s how to get started with Coin Pop on your Android phone:
- Go to the Google Play app and install the Coin Pop app.
- Open the Coin Pop app and click the “Accept” Button.
- Log in using either your Facebook, Google, or Email account.
- Coin Pop will ask for your age and gender (so it can specify game options for you).
- Click on all the permission buttons.
- Get 4,444 coins as a sign-up bonus!
Now you’re signed up!
Simply download a suggested game and begin playing.
What Kind of Games are Offered?
Since Coin Pop asks for your age and gender at sign-up, the games offered will be narrowed down to what they think will suit you.
I’m a 50year-old woman, Coin Pop suggested that I play “Coin Master”, “Township”, “New Yahtzee”, “Board Jam”, and “Cookie Jam” to name a few.
Pretty tame games, wouldn’t you agree?
I don’t know what apps would be offered in other age groups, or if all the apps are similar to the ones that were suggested to me.
How Do You Earn Money?
There are two ways to earn money on Coin Pop, by playing games and with friend referrals.
The first is by simply downloading their suggested game apps and playing.
Coin Pop pays after a time period on a game app, for example, playing Coin Master for 5 minutes earned me 893 coins.
The other way to earn is by referring friends, and you earn 250 coins for every friend that joins Coin Pop.
Coin Pop Payouts
The conversion rate on this app is 4,994 coins equals 50¢ USD.
You have several options to choose from when you want to cash out, these include:
- PayPal – From 50¢ to $20
- Steam Games – From $5 to $20
- Amazon – From $2.50 to $20
- Playstation – From $10 to $50
- American Eagle – Either a $10 or $20 option
- Chipotle – Only offers a $5 card
- Uber – Either a $15 or $20 option
- And 20 more gift cards
The number of coins you’ll need to cash out ranges from 4,999 coins for 50¢ USD to 499,999 coins for $50 USD.
The minimum amount you’ll need to cash out is just 50¢, which is pretty quick to achieve as that amount equals 4,494 coins and you receive 4,444 coins as a sign-up bonus.
Pro and Cons of Coin Pop
Every app has pros and cons associated with it and Coin Pop is no different.
Here’s my evaluation of the pros and cons on Coin Pop:
Pro:
- Easy to Use – Just sign up, download a recommended game and play
- Passive – No work other than playing games
- Quick Payout – My first cash payout came 24 hours after I requested it
- Easy Dashboard – Easy to read and find information throughout the app
Cons:
- Eats Memory Space – Uses a lot of storage space from all the downloaded games
- Games Offered – Limits games to your age and gender
- Game Preference – Cannot earn on games outside of Coin Pop
- No Guarantees – The terms and conditions state that there are no guarantees to receive winnings
I like the fact that you earn simply by playing games and that there’s no complicated rules. Everyone has a spare minute or two to play a game.
You can play while stuck in traffic, in a waiting room, during the commercials, or just before bed like I do.
I didn’t like that they requested my age and gender, then limited my game choices, that’s pretty presumptuous of them to assume what kind of game I’d want to play or not.
If I wanted to download a game that I rather play I cannot earn coins from it.
Some users have reported that the app shuts down after a large payout and they could not sign back in and after inquiring to why, Coin Pop informed them that their account was closed due to “suspicious activity”.
After researching this claim online, I learned that Coin Pop only allows one account per person and that some users actually had several accounts in their name.
Reviews by Users
Sometimes it’s best to listen to the users on what they like or don’t like about the app.
Here are several 5-Star reviews that were on Google Play:
“This app is great. I just wish it wouldn’t cost so many points to earn the money but every time I’ve sent money to my PayPal I have received it. So, for those of you who are skeptical, it does work and it does payout.”
“I downloaded 4 money-making apps all at once. Coin pop is the first one to pay out, and I am already well on my way to my second payout.”
Now, for some 1-Star reviews, also from Google Play:
“It is super slow to cumulate points; they don’t even calculate all of them. Been over a week without any new games”
“Started out fine but the longer you play, the less points you earn per minute. What starts out as 150-180 or so per minute then goes down drastically to like 4 points per minute. Waste of time.”
My response to the low rating about earning fewer points the longer you play is that this happens in every game you play, no matter the gaming platform.
Usually, the beginning levels are quick to finish and faster to earn and then the difficulty increases on the higher levels and take longer to complete.
This Coin Pop app is not to blame for the earnings but the game you’re playing through the app.
Also, keep in mind that this app is available worldwide and that the app may run differently as well as having different payment systems in different countries.
My Experience
I downloaded Coin Pop myself on a Friday afternoon and will tell you what progressed over the weekend.
After signing up and entering my age and gender I was first recommended a game called “Coin Master” so I installed it and started playing.
After several on and off rounds of playing Coin Master throughout the day, I had already earned enough coins to claim a $1 payout to PayPal, costing 9,898 coins.
Then, about 24 hours later, and with very little playing I have accumulated 2,708 points (after the payout was deducted).
This was only with one game downloaded and linked to Coin Pop.
My payout came the next day to PayPal as 0.92€ and I had to go into my PayPal account and accept it.
The amount was converted to $1.01 USD, so I received a 1¢ bonus.
I then decided to download the “Township” game and play that for the rest of the weekend as well.
As of Monday afternoon, I have a total of 4,693 points from two games and another PayPal payout of $2.50 in progress, which cost 24,253 coins.
The second payment arrived late Monday night and converted to $2.51 USD, another 1¢ bonus.
So, in one weekend I made $3.52 from 2 game apps and very casual playing.
Imagine how much you can make if you’re a “hard-core” player with several different game apps?
Similar Money-Making Apps
If you think Coin Pop is pretty easy to use, here are several more passive money-making apps where you earn money by doing almost nothing:
HoneyGain – Get paid for sharing your unused internet and the more devices you have this app installed on, the more you’ll make.
The estimated earnings you can make with the Honeygain app is about $50 a month.
ScreenLift – Get paid just for unlocking your phone and you don’t have to engage with ads, click anything, or download extra apps.
You can make about $5 a month with the ScreenLift app.
SlideJoy – Another lock-screen app where you either swipe left to learn more about an ad, or swipe right to skip the ad and go right to your homescreen.
The SlideJoy app developer states you can make $5 to $15 a month.
Nielson Computer and Mobile Panel – You simply download this app and let it run in the background while it tracks your phone’s usage.
Install this app on all your devices and earn $50 a year per device.
Bananatic – Earn money by playing games as well by testing out new games and leaving your reviews.
Another review site states you shouldn’t expect more than $10 a month.
Lucktastic – If you enjoy scratch and win cards, this app would suit you well and offers many different gift cards as prizes as well as tokens to enter raffles
I could not find where the average earnings you can make in a month, but again it’s all based on odds and luck.
Sweatcoin – Earn simply by downloading the app and walking around outside and it tracks your steps like a fitbit.
Every 1,000 steps will earn you 1 Sweatcoin and the exchange rate usually ranges from $0.05 to $0.10 per Sweatcoin.
Check out Frugal for Less’s list of passive income apps available.
Having several different types of passive apps working together can make you some money quickly.
Try a game app, a lock screen app, and a data monitor app together all at once.
Legitimate or Scam?
Reading through several other online reviews as well as downloading and checking out Coin Pop myself, I can tell you it’s a legitimate app.
First, Coin Pop has over 5 million downloads and an average rating of 4.3 out of 5, so I truly believe it’s not a scam as all these reviewers cannot be wrong.
Next, I’ve actually received a payment to my PayPal already from the app (and am expecting my second payment later).
However, if you’re looking for a way to earn a large sum quickly, then Coin Pop is not for you.
This is merely a way to make money while you’re enjoying a game or two (or three).
As I mentioned earlier, I casually made $3.52 in one weekend, if it’s that easy to make that much then it’s not a stretch to think I can easily make around $35 a month with just playing 2 game apps.
The Coin Pop app for Android is a legitimate money-making app that takes very little effort to earn money.
