Below you’ll find a list of the best survey sites along with my review of why each one deserves to be on this list.

You’ll also find how much you can expect to make per hour, the pros and cons, payment methods and other information.

With that said, let’s go ahead and dive right in.

Pinecone Research works a little bit differently than the other survey sites on this list.

Instead of logging-in and checking for available surveys, they send you an email when paid surveys are available.

The best part about this paid survey site is that you know exactly how much you earn per survey. Every survey pays you $3, with each survey taking around 15 minutes.

This means you can earn up to $12 per hour.

pinecone research

The downside with this site is that they have a very limited amount of online surveys. Last month I only received three surveys, but sometimes I get four.

Not only that, but they don’t always accept new users. But if you do get rejected, be sure to try again in a month or two to see if there are any openings.

You can exchange the points you earn for free gift cards or for PayPal cash. The minimum payout is $3.

Other Survey Sites Reviewed

Although these sites down below didn’t make our list of the most popular online survey sites, here are some other options that you can look into:

Best Paid Survey Sites in Other Countries

The majority of the surveys on this list typically only work within the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia.

Here’s a list of online survey sites that work in other countries:

What To Look For In the Paid Survey Sites

With so many survey websites out there claiming that you can make thousands, it’s difficult to determine what’s scam or legit.

However, there are some key factors that you should look for.

Be Aware Of Scam Survey Sites

scam survey sites

Legitimate surveys will never ask for your credit card information.

When taking online surveys for money, they mostly only require your email address, your payment information and for you to create a password.

Be careful of survey scams.

If they ask for anything else, walk away.

Also be aware if a survey site is claiming if you can make money online in the thousands of dollars. That’s usually not the case with these sites. If you’re looking to really make money, we suggest looking for other ways to get paid.

Sign-Up Bonuses

Sometimes welcomes bonuses can be as high as $5 or $10. I sometimes sign-up just for the sign-up bonus and then cash out once I meet the payment threshold.

From there, if I don’t like the site, I don’t continue.

Payment Thresholds

Most legitimate survey companies require you to reach a minimum balance before you can cash out. Be aware of this when you first sign-up.

I’ve seen some for as little as $5 and some as high as $50.

Yet keep in mind that those with a higher payout threshold usually pay much better.

Stick To High-Paying Survey Opportunities

I do my best to list surveys on this list that at least pay at a minimum rate of $10/hour.

Calculate how much you can earn by dividing how much you earn by how long it takes in hours ($5 survey / .5 hours = $10/hour).

Legit paid survey sites typically have low-paying surveys and high-paying ones. If you see a survey that doesn’t pay well, move on to the next one or wait for a new one to come out.

How And When They Pay

This may be important depending on how quickly you need the cash. I’ve seen survey sites payout only once a month, whereas with others you can request a payout at any time.

Keep in mind that paid surveys typically pay rather quickly.

Furthermore, keep in mind what type of compensation they pay, whether it be gift cards or PayPal deposits.

Privacy

Most surveys are quite good about privacy. The top survey websites typically keep all of your answers anonymous, so there’s no way to link your opinions for market research back to you.

I made sure that all online survey sites on this list meet these criteria.

Don’t Forget To Verify Your Email Address

When you register with the majority of these sites, they’ll require you to verify your email address.

How to Increase Earnings

Here’s a quick list of tips that you should keep in mind when trying to make money online with paid online surveys.

Prevent Burnout

When you first start taking surveys for money, it can be exciting to realize that you can easily earn some extra money online. However, I caution you to take it slow.

Burnout is quite common since paid surveys can be quite tedious.

If you find yourself getting bored with one survey site, skip it for a while and try a new one and go back to it later. I personally make sure to take a day off from paid online surveys all-together.

Separate email address can also help so that you aren’t getting spam to your primary inbox all day.

Don’t Stick With One Site

As much as I hate to admit this, you can’t just pick one of these survey sites. This is because there just aren’t enough surveys to go around that are high-paying.

Furthermore, stick with the high-paying surveys and don’t waste your time with low-paying surveys. If you’re not earning at a rate of nearly $10 per hour, take a break from that site and go to a new one.

Sometimes you can even earn for other tasks such as when you shop online or watch videos.

Refer Your Friends

Most surveys for money on this list of survey sites have a referral program.

All it takes is a quick post to your Facebook or Twitter account to shout out your referral link to all of your friends.

Sometimes Sign-up Bonuses Are All You Need

I sometimes sign-up for a survey panel only to find out that I hate it. However, with a $5 registration bonus, it’s difficult to complain.

If this is the case, what I usually do is start taking surveys and make enough to reach the minimum cash-out threshold and never come back to the site again. Sometimes this is worth it if the sign-up bonus is high enough.

Watch Your Time

The amount of time you spend on a particular survey panel really depends on the site itself. Keep track of how many hours you’re working so you know the exact amount you’re getting paid per hour.

Also remember that when taking surveys for money, the amount of time it takes completing surveys depends on your answers and demographics.

This means that the amount of money you make and the time it takes to complete surveys may vary from person to person.

They even offer a hefty $5 sign-up bonus. When it comes strictly to online surveys, I typically find that they pay about $5 every 30 minutes if not more.

When I run out of good-paying surveys, I simply switch to another task such as watching videos for some easy money. For each friend that you convince to join using your sign-up link, you earn 10% of their earnings for life.

Branded Surveys hasn’t been around as the first couple on this list, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have a strong reputation.

In fact, Branded Surveys is quickly making its way up the ranks as one of the highest-paying survey apps and websites out there.

I always find that I can earn cash at least at a rate of $10 per hour with this app. The more online surveys you complete, the more high-paying surveys that you’ll be rewarded with.

You must be at least 16 years of age to participate and you need to reside within the UK, US or Canada.

5. Pinecone Research

Pinecone Research Logo

Pinecone Research easily makes number five on this list due to their payout rate. You’re always going to earn a flat rate of $3.

Not only that, but I find that they only tend to take around 10 – 15 minutes, meaning I’m earning roughly around a rate of $15/hour.

The only downside is that there’s a limit to the amount of online surveys that you participate in. At most, I find that I’m able only to take one or two per week.

Sometimes I only receive one a month. You can turn on email notifications to be reminded of when new ones are available. Unlike the others on this list, I find that Pinecone Research tends to have the most interesting surveys.

You’re actually giving opinions about products and services that you most likely use on a daily basis. Rewards can take up to a week, and you need a minimum of $10 to cash out.

Which Survey Apps Pay Instantly and The Most?

The number one ranking factor for the list of the best survey apps is how much surveys pay. Therefore, the ones near the top of the list typically pay more (although this may not always be the case).

The top survey apps that pay the most are Survey Junkie, Swagbucks and LifePoints.

Keep in mind that some may pay you a different amount depending on the activity. For example, while Swagbucks will pay you for taking surveys, you can also earn cash from playing games and shopping online.

Helpful Guidelines For The Top Apps

Here’s some quick guidelines when it comes to choosing a survey app.

 • Never pay. If you ever run across a survey site that requires your payment information to join, it’s most likely a scam.
 • The payout rate. Obviously we all want to earn the most amount of cash in the shortest amount of time possible. Be sure to look at how much each questionnaire pays as well as how long they take to complete.
 • When they pay. Each survey site has a different payout period. Some pay once per month, and others require to request your payout.
 • The form of payment. Most reputable survey apps have multiple ways in which you can cash out, such as PayPal cash or gift cards.
 • Minimum payout threshold. I’ve ran across sites that require you to have $50 in your account before you’re able to cash out.
 • The device they function on. Unfortunately, there are some that are only available for either iOS or Android devices.
 • Privacy. All of the paid survey apps listed here care about your privacy. All of the data that’s submitted is encrypted and kept anonymous.

How To Make More Money

Here are some common tips to maximize how much cash you earn when taking surveys from your phone or other survey sites.

Prevent Burnout with Paid Survey Apps

Back when I started participating in surveys I was really excited to put in as much effort as possible to maximize returns. However, dealing with 15 at a time can really start to wear down on you.

After about a month of intense work, I had to take almost a month off just to be able to put in the effort to participate in paid surveys once again.

Go For High-Paying Surveys

A lot of the platforms on this list have a mix between low-paying and high-paying surveys. In order to earn money at the highest rate possible, don’t even bother with the lower-paying surveys.

If you’re out of completed surveys that pay well on one app, move on to the next one. Your survey responses also determine what surveys you receive in the future.

Use Other Survey Sites

Taking multiple surveys is extremely important. Apart from the fact that there’s only a few high-paying surveys on each app, this helps prevent burnout as well.

Verify Your Email Address

Most of the time you’re going to be asked to verify your email address right after signing-up. Don’t forget this step.

Referring Friends For Most Paid Apps

Surveys pay you for referring friends, and it’s one of the easiest ways to increase your earnings with survey apps. Share your survey-taking efforts with friends and family and pass along your unique link via social media accounts.

Have Fun Getting Paid

Enjoying yourself when trying out surveys is an excellent way to help you stay motivated and earn more money. If you’re not having fun, you’re less likely to keep going. Test new apps, find your favorites, take paid surveys during times convenient to you.

Try Survey Sites For Money

Sometimes there won’t be an app for a particular survey site. We’ve put together a list of 17 best survey sites.

FAQs

Are Survey Apps Legit?

The most legit survey apps are Survey Junkie, Swagbucks and Branded Surveys. Legit companies always pay the correct amount and on-time. They also have an excellent customer service team in case you have any issues.

How Much Can You Make From Surveys?

The amount you can make from market research companies is based on many demographical factors and the site itself. Certain sites generally have a higher payout. Furthermore, factors such as your age and location can make a difference in the type of questions that are assigned to you.

Where Do the Top Survey Apps Get Their Money From?

Survey companies partner with companies in order to gather data. Your opinion is sent anonymously to specific companies in order to help improve their products and services. In short, survey apps work as a middleman.

Final Thoughts

Surveys are fantastic if you’re on the run or are waiting in line looking to earn money.

While not all of the surveys on this list may be suitable for you, it’s better to try as many as you can in order to see which ones work for you.

Although survey apps probably won’t make you rich, they do make for a side hustle to earn some extra cash and help contribute to market research at the same time.

The minimum payment threshold is set at $5, and I can usually reach this amount quite quickly. The $2 welcome bonus definitely helps with this.

The only downside with this money making app is that sometimes it can take weeks before you receive your payments.

12. PointClub

PointClub Logo

PointClub is one of my favorite survey apps for multiple reasons. To start off, they immediately give you a $5 bonus for signing-up as a new user.

Not only that, but out of all of the money making apps on this list, I find that they tend to have some of the best hourly rates when it comes to taking surveys.

They also have a bonus program. For ever 5 days that you log-in consecutively, you get a 10% bonus of all of your survey earnings. You can keep increasing this amount until you reach a maximum bonus of 100%.

However, if you forget to log-in for one day, your bonus will reset back to zero.

With the bonus applied, I usually earn at a rate of $10 – $15 per hour with the high-paying surveys. The surveys are also very easy to complete, and are typically more enjoyable than other survey apps on this list.

Unfortunately, this one is only available for Android users.

If you still want to give PointClub a try without an Android phone, you can always take surveys using their desktop version.

14. MySoapBox

MySoapBox Logo

If you’re looking for a mobile app with high-paying surveys, then you can’t go wrong with MySoapBox. They don’t bother with lower-paying surveys as they know their users won’t be interested in them.

The only downside is that there aren’t many surveys available.

Since they don’t offer that many surveys, I highly suggest signing-up for their email notifications. Your first time cashing out you need a minimum balance of $25.

The $2 sign-up bonus definitely helps in reaching this amount a bit more quickly. After you cash out for the first time, you only need a minimum of $1.

What I’ve noticed is that with MySoapBox the surveys are typically longer due to their high payout rate. While it may seem like a downside, it’s a great way to prevent burnout.

In other words, there’s no need to be constantly searching for new surveys.

Each time you refer a friend using your referral link, you get a $1 bonus and your friend receives $2.

Quick Summary:
 • High-paying surveys
 • Not many surveys available
 • Minimum of $25 to cash out the first time
 • After first time, only $1 to cash out
 • $2 sign-up bonus

15. BeFrugal

BeFrugal Logo

BeFrugal is on par with TopCashback in terms of cash back rates. In fact, if you’re looking for the highest overall return, we recommend going with one of these two.

When you sign-up for BeFrugal, you get a $10 bonus and an additional $15 bonus when you refer a friend.

Like any other portal on this list, you’ll find that the best deals usually occur around the holidays season.

Similar to TopCashback, BeFrugal also gives you a 3% bonus when you choose to redeem for Amazon gift cards instead of PayPal.

What I usually do before making any purchase online is quickly check on Rakuten, TopCashback and BeFrugal in that order. From there, I use the shopping portal that has the highest rate.

I know that I can also rely on these 3 portals since they’ve always paid me the correct amount and on-time.

Quick Summary:
 • Not as high rates as TopCashback
 • Redeem for gift cards or PayPal cash
 • Special deals around the holidays

17. Robinhood

Robinhood Logo

Robinhood is one of the most popular investment apps on the market. It’s great for those who are beginner investors and looking to make money on the stock market.

Its great easy-to-use interface makes it quite addictive. For this matter, be careful as you may end up day trading without you realizing it.

For me personally, I focus all of my attention on low-cost ETFs. These are highly diversified and give me a great balance and covers most of the entire stock market without risking volatility.

The best part about Robinhood is their commission structure. You get unlimited free trades on everything. That includes options, ETFs, stocks and mutual funds.

Sign up as a new user and earn a fractional share of a free stock as a bonus.

Quick Summary:
 • Commission-free investment app
 • Fractional share as a registration bonus
 • Easy-to-use interface
 • Excellent for beginning investors
 • Can be quite addictive due to interface

Toluna Opinions is great for those who want cash fast.

All payouts are made immediately after you request them. You need a minimum of $20 in your account to cash out for either direct deposits to PayPal or for gift cards.

You also get a $2 bonus as a new user.

The surveys are a bit higher-paying with Toluna, which is great since you don’t have to weed out the lower-paying ones.

Expect to earn anywhere from $1 – $5 per survey, and each one taking roughly 5 – 20 minutes each.

Read our Toluna review for more details.

19. GigWalk

gigwalk logo

GigWalk pays you to complete local tasks in your area.

The tasks you complete usually include taking surveys, taking a photo, checking prices or some other sort of mystery shopping tasks.

The earnings potential for GigWalk is quite high in which you can get paid up to $20 per task. However, in exchange most tasks tend to take a bit longer.

I personally prefer this since I can focus on one task at a time.

There’s no registration bonus with this money making app, but it’s definitely worth it. It gets you out of the house and it tends to pay quite well.

For those living in smaller cities, it’s going to be a bit difficult to find many gigs, but I suggest at least trying.

20. Uber

With the Uber app, you can earn cash by picking up people and delivering to their destination – just like a taxi would.

The majority of Uber app drivers use this platform as a side hustle to earn some extra cash on their own schedule. Some make it their full-time job.

The amount you earn depends on the location. For example, if you’re in a small city, it won’t be as profitable as in larger cities such as New York.

This is one of the best money making apps for full-time work or to work on your own hours. Some Uber drivers report as making up to $6,000 per month after tips and fees.

However, keep in mind that they’re usually working long hours to earn this amount. Drivers that work during peak hours tend to make more money.

If you’re looking to earn even more time, you can also sign up for Uber Eats and deliver food to homes for instant paymentsand work on your own schedule.

21. Nielsen Consumer & Mobile Panel

Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel comes at a close third on our passive income apps list. Although the payout isn’t as high, you can install the app on multiple devices; doubling, tripling or even quadrupling your income.

The amount of devices you can install the app on depends on your location. They accept a specific number of devices from any given area.

For every device you have, expect to earn up to $50/year in passive income. You can also install the app on desktop devices, but keep in mind that you won’t earn money this way.

If you decide to go the desktop route, you’ll be entered in monthly drawings to earn up to $1,000 at a time.

It’s difficult to determine exactly when you’ll be able to cash out.. From my personal experience they pay about once or twice a month.

Earn points that can be exchanged for both cash rewards and gift cards. Be sure to check out our full review.

22. MobileXpression

Apps like MobileXpression gives you a $5 Amazon gift card within your first few weeks of signing-up as a new member. In total, expect to only earn around $20 per year with this free app.

While it’s not much, you literally don’t have to do anything except leave it running in the background on your phone.

I haven’t noticed any slowdown on my phone on this app. Aside from earning cash rewards, you’ll also be awarded tokens that can be used to enter cash drawings.

The one downside about MobileXpression is that they require you to install a VPN to your phone.

Keep in mind that certain cash rewards apps may suspend you if they find out if you’re using a VPN.

23. EarnHoney

When it comes to video watching apps, EarnHoney reigns at the top of the list.

They’ve continuously increased in popularity due to the fact that you can make $90/month or more.

The best part? It’s completely passive, meaning you can just let the phone run and let videos play endlessly.

Even though this is the case, I suggest checking-up on the app once in a while to make sure it hasn’t frozen. This will happen if you leave the app running for days at a time.

EarnHoney gets even better. When you refer a friend, you get 10% of all of their earnings. This is a great way for you and your friends to earn some extra cash.

24. TaskRabbit

TaskRabbit merely serves as a tool to help you find work in your area. Help others complete tasks such as delivering groceries, building furniture from IKEA, waiting in line and more.

Keep in mind that all those who wish to work as task workers must complete a background check.

The amount you earn per task depends on how much the person who’s looking for help is willing to pay. TaskRabbit is available in 19 major cities across the US.

In order to start really making money on TaskRabbit, it’s important to get positive reviews. This way you can turn it into a lucrative side hustle with some earning up to thousands per month.

Keep in mind that payments aren’t issued through the app until tasks are 100% completed as agreed upon by both the client and worker.

Qmee has partnered with thousands of retailers across the web. Each time you make a search query, they check to see if one of their retail partners has an ad related to what your searching for.

If there’s a match, ad appears and you get paid to click on it.

What’s great about Qmee is that you always know how much you’re getting paid each time you click on an ad at anywhere from $.03 to $.07 cents per click.

Qmee now offers surveys for extra cash, and you get $1 each time you refer a friend.

If one of these codes matches with your purchase, the code is automatically applied. Expect to get one or two promotional discounts when you have this free app turned on.

In fact, I’ve been able to save an average of 3 – 5% on all of my purchases thanks to Honey and the coupon codes they provide.

27. Ipsos i-Say

What I love about Ipsos is that they always tell you how long surveys are going to take. Furthermore, most of their surveys are actually much shorter than they say.

I can make roughly $8 – $10 per hour with Ipsos as long as I stick to higher-paying surveys.

Each time you take a survey you’re also automatically entered in a prize drawing. Win cool prizes such as an MP3 player, gift cards and more.

Ipsos also rewards you for taking a lot of surveys. For example, when you take your first 5 surveys you’re automatically given 5 points.

The more surveys you take, the higher up their rewards ladder you’ll move. Earn points that can be redeemed for a gift card of your choosing.

28. Panda Research

Panda Research starts off great with a $3 sign-up bonus.

Not only can you earn rewards taking surveys with Panda Research, but you can also earn money for completing other tasks such as reading emails and clipping coupons.

The great thing about Panda Research is that they pay you automatically on the 1st and the 15th of every month provided that you have the minimum balance in your account.

Don’t like taking surveys? Stick to reading emails. All you’re required to do is to open them and you get paid.

29. Fiverr

Unlike most of the other best money making apps on this list, Fiverr is a marketplace that allows you to promote your skills as services and receive money in return from clients.

In short, you’re basically becoming a freelancer but through an organized platform.

The reason they call it Fiverr is because you earn a minimum of $5 per gig (or skill) that you promote. You can set up gigs in writing, SEO, graphic design, copywriting and much more.

When you create an account, just make sure to fill out your profile in detail. This should outline your expertise, any certifications and why you are qualified.

After your profile is complete, create gigs that buyers can search for. You can set up as many gigs as you want. Keep in mind that you won’t be paid until after you complete the task that you give to your client.

Make sure to provide an excellent service so that clients leave you 5-star reviews. If you become a top-rated seller, you appear higher in search results for certain gigs and will thus generate more sales and money.

30. Google Opinion Rewards

The Google Opinion Rewards app pays you to complete surveys in exchange for rewards or payments to PayPal.

Most of the surveys that you complete include polls, reviews for hotels and surveys on product satisfaction.

Keep in mind that in order for Opinion Rewards to work, it must be able to access your location. This is due to the fact that some of the surveys are based on a local area that you may have visited.

In short, the Google app has very quick surveys, but very limited earnings potential. That’s why we put them last on our list of best money making apps.

Rewards are typically given in the form of credit in the Google Play Store.

31. Capital One Shopping

The Capital One Shopping app (formerly known as Paribus) keeps track of all of the purchases you made in the past year and gives you a refund if that item decreased in price.

Capital One Shopping calculates the difference and gives you a refund directly from the store. They’re able to due this due to the terms on their credit card policy.

Once the app detects a price adjustment, refunds are typically processed in around 3-7 business days. You’ll always be refunded to your original payment method.

For example, if you paid with a debit card, Capital One Shopping will give you a refund on your debit card.

The great thing about the Capital One Shopping app is that once you’re setup, they do all of the work for you – it’s a 100% automatic way to save money!

I don’t have a lot of personal experience with this app since it’s fairly recent. However, I’ve heard some pretty good reviews, especially since it’s incredibly easy to use.

What Should I Look For In The Best Money Making Apps?

Here’s a short list of things I always look for before signing up for any sort of money making app:

 • How do they pay? Most money making apps have a wide variety of payment methods. However, I’ve run into a few that only have one form of payment. For example, some apps only pay in physical products and don’t give out any sort of cash awards. If they give away rewards that you’re never going to use, you should probably turn away and look for an app that’s more worth your time.
 • When do they pay? Most apps typically pay within a couple of weeks or less. However, there are some that only pay once a month. Depending on how patient you are, this might or might not be an issue.
 • How much do they pay? How much you can potentially earn is probably the most important single factor when looking at the best money making apps. Keep in mind that you may need to try an app for a while before you can calculate any sort of hourly rate.
 • Free registration? In most cases, you should never have to pay to use a money app. If at any time you run across an app that asks for your payment information, it’s most likely a scam. All of the apps on this list are 100 percent free.
 • Can you refer friends? Some of the easiest ways to earn extra cash with apps is by making a quick post to Facebook or Twitter with your referral link

Are These Apps Legit?

All of the money making apps listed here are 100% legit and completely free to use.

In fact, if you ever come across a money making app that asks for your credit card information without good reason and reviews, they are most likely a scam.

After hours of personal testing, we can confirm that all of the apps on this list have paid out the correct amount and on-time. If at any time you don’t receive your payment, contact the customer support team.

All of the apps on this list have excellent support and should be able to help you with your needs.

The reason we didn’t include more money making apps on this list is because they failed to meet the requirements mentioned in the above sentences.

Apps That Aren’t Worth Your Time

These apps pay so little that they aren’t worth your time.

 • ReceiptPal – Another receipt scanning app. The payouts are so low that you typically only earn cents for every receipt you scan.
 • QuickThoughts – Survey app that’s completely legit. However, the payouts are extremely low and there typically aren’t many surveys available.
 • Seashells – Cash back app that no longer exists.
 • Perk TV – Small task app that no longer exists.
 • AppManGet paid to download apps. The problem with these type of apps is that they typically have only a limited amount of apps you can download. If you’re lucky, you can cash out one time.
 • WowApp – Earn rewards for messaging others through this app. The payouts are extremely low and everyone is using other apps for messaging.
 • Vindale Research – Survey app that’s been shut down.
 • CashCrate – Small task site that’s been shut down.

How Are These Apps Able to Pay You?

The reason the money making apps on this list are able to pay you is because they receive a payment in exchange for the service that you provide.

Think of them as a middleman. Instead of you working directly with the company that’s seeking some sort of information on a product or service, these apps receive a commission for bringing the challenges directly to you.

For example, let’s take a look at survey apps.

Companies want to receive honest feedback about their products and services from consumers. However, it would be extremely costly and difficult for them to reach out to a large amount of people.

Therefore, they rely on the apps to conduct market research for them.

What Are The Ways to Earn Money On These Apps?

Here’s a quick list of ways we’ve mentioned that you can earn some extra cash by using these apps.

 1. Play games – You usually won’t earn a high amount to play games, but it’s one of the best ways to pass time while making money.
 2. Watch videos – Sometimes this can be considered “passive” income since you aren’t doing anything except sitting there watching TV.
 3. Driving – For those who are looking for a serious way to earn money, apps such as Uber can be a great side hustle and also a full-time living.
 4. Cash back – These apps pay you a percentage back on your purchase price or offer you a refund such as Capital One Shopping.
 5. Surveys – Receive money through taking surveys and sharing your opinion.
 6. Exercise – Money making apps like Sweatcoin pay you to excercise. There aren’t many other fitness apps like this one.

What Are the Best Apps For The Most Money?

The #1 ranking factor for the best money making apps listed above is their payout rate. However, other ranking factors may come into play such as registration bonus, payment methods and ease-of-use.

If you’re looking specifically for the highest-paying apps, we recommend Swagbucks or Survey Junkie specifically.

If you try out an app and you’re making under $5 per hour, we suggest ditching it and moving on to another one on this list. Otherwise, it’s not going to be worth your time.

Most of the apps here are available in both the Google Play Store and the iOS App Store.

Final Thoughts

Not all money apps are created equal – this is especially true when it comes to the ones that can make you money.

We highly suggest going through each of these apps individually to see which ones work best for you. After all, there may be some that pay more based on your interests and demographics.

If you’re looking for even more money making apps, check out this eBook that gives you a list of 101 apps to make money.

In any case, these apps will definitely help you earn money will on the go or in your spare time. While they may not make you rich, they do make a great side hustle or to quickly add extra money to your bank account.

Be sure to check this list often as we’ll be continuously testing and adding in other money making apps.

What if you could make an extra $50 per day or $1,500 per month?

For most people, making $50 dollars per day online is a lot of money. And it can be quite difficult to earn this amount, especially with all of the different methods out there for making money over the internet.

But after testing over hundreds of different ways to make money online, we finally narrowed it down to the 50 easiest ways to make $50 a day.

How to Make $50 Per Day (50 Best Ways)

In this article, we’ll explain how to generate extra income and how to make 50 dollars a day online and offline, working just a few hours.

Let’s get started with making 50 dollars a day online. Here’s what you’ll need:

 • Internet access
 • Bank account (normal savings account)
 • The drive and determination to start and continue
 • A great attitude

Aside from this, you might need specific skills and knowledge, but it all depends on the type of work. But if you don’t have any experience, not to worry. There will still be something on this list that you can take from this article.

However, we have to warn you that making money online often seems easier than it really is.

1. Online Surveys

Complete surveys online

With online surveys, you get paid to share your opinion.

Companies are seeking consumer opinion, and some of them are ready to pay good money for it.

There are tons of survey companies available.

They pay via direct deposit, PayPal, Venmo, free gift cards, and other ways.

Some survey companies are available by free apps you can download from Google Play or App Store, whereas other surveys you complete using your desktop computer.

Survey companies act as a middleman between the company and paid focus groups.

They help the companies get the consumer input they are looking for while paying you for sharing your opinion.

How Much Money Can You Make Completing Online Surveys?

Surveys typically pay between less than $1 up to $100 each.

You can’t make a full-time income taking surveys but, you can make a side income to complement your current primary source of income.

Is Completing Online Surveys Hard?

Completing surveys is an easy way to earn money online.

All you have to do is answer the survey questions.

There are no wrong answers, you just want to be 100% honest in your answers.

And while taking surveys is not free money, it is a possibility to earn some extra cash doing a simple task.

Do You Need a Computer to Take Surveys?

A computer is unnecessary but you will need internet access, which you can get through:

 • Smartphone
 • Tablet
 • Internet cafe
 • Public library
 • Other places

How Many Online Surveys Can One Take?

You can take as many surveys as you’d like, and from different survey companies.

Below is a list of some of our favorite survey companies:

If you’re looking for other surveys, check out this list of the best paid online survey sites.

How Can One Make the Most Money with Surveys?

Check out these best practices to make the most money with surveys:

 • Track your work and income
 • Treat it like a job
 • Join multiple survey sites to make the most money
 • Practice time management

If want to make extra money, taking surveys is definitely worth it, as it can earn you $50 or more per day.

With survey taking, you can start making money online!

2. Join Panels

Panels allow you to make even more money in a few extra hours a week.

They are similar to surveys.

To make money online with panels, you’ll need more time.

While surveys can take 2-15 minutes to complete (some are longer), panels can take 30-90 minutes minimum and can even take up to several weeks to complete.

For example, you might take part in a 3-week panel where you’ll have to spend just a few hours per week for 3 weeks to complete a panel.

Panels can be online or offline.

What’s My Experience With Panels Like?

The panels I took part in were all online and I earned much over 50 dollars a day.

I have taken part in 3 panels over the past couple of years and they paid me $100, $125, and $400.

While you may not take part in panels as frequently as surveys, they are an excellent way for you to earn money fast.

Perhaps you can complete 2-3 panels per month and make a decent amount of extra money online and earn $800 per panel (sometimes more).

Because they are high paying, you only need to take part in a handful of them every month to make an average of $50/day.

Check out these panel companies to get you started:

3. Start a Blog

Start a blog and earn up to $50/day or more.

With blogging, you can earn money online by sharing your thoughts, experience, and expertise with the public.

You can build a network, create lasting connections with an audience, build up your reputation as an expert in an industry, and earn money doing it.

How Much Can You Make Blogging?

Bloggers can make a lot of money, even $20,000 or $43,000+ a month, which is very good money, and far way beyond 50 dollars a day.

Pretty impressive numbers, huh?

With basic writing skills, even a beginner can make money by running a blog for just a few hours every day.

While you might not make money like this from your blog overnight, you can start earning a few hundred dollars a day within several months or a bit longer.

What’s best is that you can set up passive income streams through affiliate marketing and advertising and earn as much as $20,000 a month.

What Can You Blog About?

There are tons of topics you can blog about.

I recommend you choose a topic you are passionate about, such as:

 • Travel
 • Food
 • Budgeting
 • Minimalism
 • Small business
 • Career
 • Military lifestyle
 • College life
 • Mom’s life
 • Parenting
 • Gardening
 • Pets
 • Home Decor

Are There Startup Costs?

There are costs for starting a blog but they are affordable, under $20 a month.

Many side gigs or businesses come with startup costs, and it’s the same with blogging.

The good thing is that the startup costs are inexpensive while your income can easily surpass 50 dollars a day.

Here’s a list of the startup costs required to get started blogging:

 • Hosting
 • Domain

There are tons of hosting platforms to choose from.

We like HostGator.

They offer cheap monthly plans for less than the cost of a fast food meal combo.

Then, your domain cost is next, which is around $9/year with Namecheap.

So for under $20 startup cost, you can be on your way to starting your own blog.

Beware though, as if you’re looking to make your own custom website, the initial costs of your blog can rise significantly.

When you’re ready to blog, you’ll need:

 • Time
 • Resources
 • The drive to succeed

How Much Time Should I Blog Per Day?

The time commitment is flexible, based on your schedule.

You can devote 2 hours per week to blogging or 20 hours per week. It all depends on your daily schedule, routine, time, and circumstances.

How Should You Organize Your Time To Be a Successful Blogger?

There are two things you need to consider when you decide to start a blog:

 • Content
 • Promotion

The content is the meat and potatoes of your blog.

It’s the articles that you write that will connect with an audience.

The content will drive traffic and then bring visitors around the world to your website. This will allow you to monetize that traffic to make extra cash (more on this below).

The promotion is the advertising you’ll do to help your blog gain exposure and earn extra income in the future.

Blogging is flexible, and you’ll love it if you love writing about a topic you’re passionate about.

You can do blogging after work, during weekends, on your breaks at work, etc.

Besides, you are your own freelance writer and so you’re your own boss. Isn’t that awesome?

What Resources You’ll Need to Get Started?

To earn money online, you will need to invest some into hosting and domain.

Setting up your own blog is super easy, and you can do it under an hour.

You can learn more in our free 7-step guide that shows you how to start a blog.

You should know that consistency is one of the biggest success factors.

How Can You Make Money Blogging?

You can monetize your blog in a variety of ways, and earn significant amounts of extra cash by:

 • Affiliate marketing
 • Sponsorships
 • Ads
 • Products and services
Making Money with Affiliate Marketing

With affiliate marketing, you promote products on your blog and you earn a commission when a sale results.

For example, if you refer designer luggage to your blog readers for $1,000 with a 10% commission and you have booked ten sales this month, you have earned a $1,000 commission.

With affiliate income, you can sit and relax, as you won’t have to do anything apart from maintaining your blog, but you will have the financial freedom that you’ve been looking for.

Any affiliate program will give you plenty of room to make affiliate income. All you’ll have to do is just refer products to your audience and you’ll earn passive income.

Making Money with Sponsorships

Blog sponsorships are brand deals between you and a company.

If you’re a travel blogger, you might partner with a hotel to promote their grand opening.

If you’re a small business blogger, you might promote a new business product that would appeal to your audience.

With sponsorships, companies will pay you to talk about them on your blog.

Sponsorships are a fruitful endeavor that can earn you up to five figures (or more) per month.

The larger your blog is, the more you might make.

This blogger earns a full-time income through sponsorship income.

Making Money with Ads

You can have paid ads placed on your blog and when visitors click the ad, you get paid.

That’s also another significant source of passive income.

Some examples of ad networks are:

4. Open an E-commerce Store

 • Calendars
 • Coffee mugs
 • Home goods

Here are examples of services to sell:

 • Consulting
 • Coaching
 • Copywriting
 • Accounting/Bookkeeping

Opening an online store means you’ll be selling products.

To earn money online, and turn your efforts into passive income, you can sell online almost anything: home goods, office supplies, apparel, footwear, etc.

If you’ve ever wanted to start your own business and break into e-commerce, then this is your opportunity and Shopify can help you.

5. Sell Online on a Marketplace such as eBay

Selling and shopping online have replaced traditional flea markets.

Marketplace selling differs from selling in a private online store because you are selling in a market, instead of in an online store.

What Are the Advantages of Marketplace Selling?

The advantage of selling in a market is exposure to the audience because many people shop online.

With gigantic markets like eBay that have millions of visitors every month, the potential exposure you can get to your products is huge.

What Are the Disadvantages of Marketplace Selling?

The disadvantage is the cost because you’ll have to pay an upfront fee and/or percentage of the sale to the market to take part as a seller.

Even with fees, marketplace selling can be a profitable venture and more and more people are making marketplace selling their full-time job.

You can also try selling on eBay.

First, go around your home and collect goods you can sell so you can earn more than 50 a day online.

This can include:

 • Small appliances like hand mixers, coffee makers, etc.
 • Rugs and textiles
 • Wall art
 • Pillows
 • Kids Apparel
 • Footwear
 • Curtains and linens
 • Art

How Much Money Can You Make By Selling on eBay?

The amount you earn is based on how much you sell, which can be the value of products you’re selling (like a $1,500 computer) or the volume of products you’re selling (like 20 items sold this month that equal $1,600).

You can do eBay arbitrage (look at Amazon arbitrage below), where you buy products specifically for selling for a profit.

Like buying a $100 MP4 player and reselling it on eBay for $150, pocketing a $50 profit (before fees).

Curious about getting started?

6. Retail Arbitrage on Amazon

Retail arbitrage is buying and selling goods to make money online.

For example, you can buy a comforter set at Walmart on sale for $20 and resell it on Amazon for $60 to make a profit of $40 (before fees).

That’s how retail arbitrage works.

People do retail arbitrage full time and make a nice living doing it.

How to Get Started on Amazon?

First, source products, which means you will research where you’ll be finding the products for resale.

You can shop online or in retail stores.

Next, you’ll list products online and sell them.

Once your product sells, the goods get shipped to the consumer.

Rinse and repeat and you’ve got yourself a retail arbitrage business.

Where to Source Products?

 • Target
 • Walmart
 • Bed, Bath, and Beyond
 • Home Depot
 • Party City
 • Costco

You can do retail arbitrage with just about every retailer including online stores.

Can You Do Retail Arbitrage Online?

You can combine retail arbitrage with dropshipping and have a hands-off business.

For example, you source a pair of eyeglasses from Wal-Mart on sale for $5 for 10 days.

During that 10 days, you sell a pair for $20, making you a $15 profit (before fees).

And shipping to the customer would just involve drop shipping the order, where you place the online order at Walmart.com and direct ship to the customer.

How Much Money Can You Make With Arbitrage Online?

With arbitrage online, can earn an endless amount of money.

To make $1500/month, you’d need to average $50 per day in sales (or profit) to hit your goal.

How Much Startup Capital is Required for Arbitrage Online?

You can start with a little capital or a lot of capital.

Many people new to the retail arbitrage industry will start by raising money through the sale of household goods, then use that profit to fund the next round of purchases, then use that profit to support the next round of purchases, rinse and repeat.

This is an easy way to start your retail arbitrage business with no money out of pocket.

Where Can I Start Online Arbitrage?

Yes, retail arbitrage is not just limited to Amazon.

You can do it in places like:

 • eBay
 • Craiglist
 • Letgo
 • Offer
 • Facebook Marketplace

7. Go Thrifting to Resell on Poshmark

This is Poshmark arbitrage, and it is retail arbitrage too but, instead of selling on Amazon or other marketplaces, you’ll sell on Poshmark.

Poshmark is an online marketplace where buyers and sellers come together to buy and sell goods.

Here’s how you do Poshmark arbitrage:

First, source goods.

 • Thrift stores
 • Flea markets
 • Garage sales
 • Clearance stores
 • Stores offering goods on sale

Next, buy products at a great price and list them for sale on Poshmark to make a profit.

For example, you can find a Louis Vuitton handbag at a goodwill store for $50 and resell it on Poshmark for $250, profiting $200 (before fees).

The group board admin is the person who created the group.

Creating a group is simple, but growing a community can take a lot of hard work and time.

As the group board admin, you are the one:

 • Creating conversations
 • Interacting with members
 • Creating engagement

This is a great opportunity to sell your knowledge and expertise to your Facebook group.

You can do this by selling products and services.

How To Make Money as a Group Member?

Members find groups on Facebook, request to join and, if approved by the Admin, have access to the group to share, start discussions, and interact with peers.

What’s neat about Facebook groups is that direct selling is not required.

I did a case study over the summer where I tried to get clients from Facebook groups over 30 days.

I was active, helpful, started discussions, answered questions, provided value, and was very present in the group.

At the end of 30 days, I landed multiple clients and earned an extra nearly $1,000.

Plus, there are Buy/Sell groups where you can directly sell and that’s the sole purpose of the group.

This is an outstanding way to make money through groups.

What Are Some Other Ways to Make Money Fast?

We have suggested how to make 50 dollars a day online and offline, working just a few hours to earn extra cash and even save money. However, the list is practically unlimited.

We haven’t mentioned other ways to make money online or in person, such as playing free games for money, watching videos, creating digital stickers, selling stock photos and art, catering services, data entry jobs, and much more.

In this article, for example, we haven’t mentioned the option that many native English speakers take advantage of.

We have given no specific instructions on how to find teaching jobs and teach English online or become a tutor.

Many native English speakers teach English online.

They teach from preschoolers who want to learn the language to professionals who want to advance their English language skills.

Also, many jobs we’ve mentioned offer you the opportunity to earn quick cash and more money than you expect.

And, while you expect to earn over 50 dollars a day online, working offline, face-to-face with clients, and taking local gigs is also an option you should consider.

Think about what you can do and start looking for the best option that will allow you to earn cash or even serious money that you can further invest.

Final Thoughts

There are many jobs you can take and turn into lucrative careers if you are driven to succeed.

We have listed 50 ways to make at least 50 dollars a day in various fields, starting from simple (although not always easy) tasks such as survey taking, cleaning houses, and driving vehicles to deliver goods, all the way to more complex assignments related to running your own website and create passive income streams, being a virtual assistant, social media marketer, or selling online courses, and many others.

With some of these jobs, you can earn more than a few hundred dollars a day and gain financial freedom.

Not only you will earn money, but you will save money.

The post 15 Best Apps That Pay You To Watch Videos Online appeared first on Frugal For Less.

]]>

Apps that pay you to watch videos is one of the best ways to earn some extra cash.

Little work is involved other than watching a short clip.

For that reason, I’ve put together a list of free apps that pay you to watch videos online.

I often find that these apps are great for when I have a few minutes to spare while waiting for someone or am just lounging around.

Want to Make Extra Money Now?

15 Best Apps That Pay You To Watch Videos

Let’s go ahead and get started with our list of the 15 or more best apps that pay you to watch videos online.

Below we cover how these apps work, how much they pay and why they make our list.

But before we begin, we often receive this question from our readers:

Can I earn a passive income with these apps?

In other words, can you hit the play button, let the app sit there and rack up cash for doing nothing?

Unfortunately, the majority of these apps are not this way.

Most of them require you to hit a “next” button in order to continue watching the next video.

If there’s an app on this list that plays each succeeding video automatically (and there are a few), we’ll be sure to mention it in the description.

Below the list we’ve also included a section for tips and tricks to help you earn the most through watching videos.

1. Swagbucks

make money watching videos with swagbucks

Swagbucks is one of my favorite mobile apps out there due to its versatility.

Not only can you get paid to watch videos, but Swagbucks allows you to earn points when you complete surveys, play games, shop online, fill out free-trial offers and more.

It’s one of the most popular rewards sites on the web.

We put Swagbucks at the number one spot due to the fact that you can earn a passive income with this app.

In fact, we even did a write-up explaining how you can easily earn an extra $30/month in passive income letting the videos run automatically.

Each time you complete a task with the Swagbucks app, you’ll earn a certain amount of points.

These points can be exchanged either for cash prizes, direct deposits to your PayPal account or for gift cards.

Swagbucks also comes with a great referral program.

For each friend that signs-up using your link, you earn 10% of how much they earn for life. Keep in mind that this does not take away from their earnings.

Swagbucks does offer a $10 welcome bonus, but we’ve found this amount to vary anywhere between $5 and $10.

This is definitely one of the higher paying apps that pays for watching videos online.

Want to find out how to maximize your earnings? Check out our Swagbucks review.

2. Rewardia

have fun and earn rewards with rewardia

Rewardia is quickly making its way up the list when it comes to earning money for completing small task jobs.

Start making money when you watch videos, complete surveys, play games and refer friends.

Unfortunately, you’re going to have to hit the “Next”button to keep earning with Rewardia, but their payout is usually much better than other apps here.

When you register, you automatically get a 100 point welcome bonus deposited into your account.

Once you reach the minimum balance, you can cash out for a free gift card or free PayPal money.

Most of the users find the games with Rewardia quite entertaining.

They also have a pretty decent referral program. Every time you refer a friend that earns their first 3,000 points, you also receive an additional 3,000 points in your account.

A great way to spread the word and get more referrals is by posting your link on social media pages such as Facebook or Twitter.

3. ClipClaps

clipclaps funny videos

ClipClaps is an app that just recently launched that’s becoming extremely popular.

Get paid to watch videos that are both short and fun from your phone.

If you’re already searching YouTube for funny videos switch to ClipClaps to get paid for it.

When you register for the app, you automatically receive a $1 welcome bonus when you use the promo code 5383581033.

Otherwise, all new users receive what’s called a Diamond Chest upon registration. This Diamond Chest contains many prizes.

For example, my first chest contained 500 points and raffle tickets for free Amazon gift cards.

Earn even more cash by referring your friends. When they sign-up through your promo code or link, you earn $1 dollar.

What most people find about ClipClaps is that it can be quite addicting due to the entertaining videos.

Once you reach the minimum amount of points, you can exchange them for direct deposits to your PayPal account.

4. FusionCash

make money with fusioncash

FusionCash offers a great incentive right off of the bat by giving you a $5 sign-up bonus.

There’s a minimum of $25 needed in your account in order to cash out, but it shouldn’t take long to reach this amount.

While you can get paid to watch videos, FusionCash also pays you to take surveys, refer friends, listen to music, clicking ads and more.

New users have an abundant amount of offers, and it’s not difficult to earn $25 within your first 30 minutes.

However, don’t expect to make this amount consistently. I typically find that after my first $25, I can earn around $5 – $12 per hour.

FusionCash also has an excellent referral program.

Get a $1 bonus when your referral confirms their email, $2 when they complete a Pay-To-Sign-Up offer, and an additional $5 dollars each time they cash out.

Definitely the best referral programs on this list as well as a great way to earn extra money completing small tasks.

This app does not offer gift cards as a payment option.

5. MyPoints

 • Registration Bonus: $10 when you earn your first $20
 • Join MyPoints

welcome to mypoints

MyPoints is primarily known as a cash back shopping portal.

They’ve partnered with hundreds of online retailers across the web and placed all of their affiliate links onto their page.

Each time you click a link and shop at a retailer of your choice, they earn a commission

Instead of keeping this cash to themselves, they give it back to you in the form of cash back.

Expect to earn anywhere from 1% – 10% in cash back each time you shop.

Not only do you earn points for shopping online. MyPoints also gives you the opportunity to earn free cash just for watching videos on their mobile app.

Unfortunately, these videos are not passive, as you will need to hit a next button to continue watching them.

You even get a $10 bonus when you earn your first $20.

Refer friends for even more cash by receiving a 10% bonus of whatever they earn for life.

Want to find out more? Check out our full MyPoints review.

6. Inbox Dollars

make money watching videos with inbox dollars

Inbox Dollars is another rewards site that pays you for completing tasks aside from watching videos.

This includes, reading emails, playing games, taking surveys, filling out free-trial offers and more.

If you’re looking to earn the most amount of cash, I suggest doing a combination of reading emails and watching videos.

Both of these options are incredibly simple, which is why it’s one of my favorites on this list.

Keep in mind that with Inbox Dollars, it’s not a passive way of making money. You will need to click a “Next” button in order to play the next video.

The great thing about InboxDollars is that they give you a $5 sign-up bonus.

They also have an excellent referral program.

For every friend that you refer, you earn 10% of whatever they earn. Keep in mind that you will not be taking away from your friends’ earnings.

Earn points and get paid in gift cards to various retailers.

Still looking for more information? We wrote up a detailed Inbox Dollars review.

7. Idle-Empire

make money online with idle-empire

Idle-Empire is a great way to earn money completing tasks online.

This includes watching videos, referring friends, taking surveys and much more.

The best task to participate in? You earn free money being AFK on their servers, thus making this a passive income app.

You can even have Idle-Empire use your computer’s processing power to assist in the mining of cryptocurrency. In exchange, they give you free money – and you don’t have to do a thing.

They have a low minimum cash out rate of just 1,000 points. Keep in mind that you may need to save up a bit more in order to redeem for certain prizes.

They’re known for being one of the few rewards sites that pays you in free Xbox gift cards (and other retailers as well), but you also have the option to cash out for cryptocurrencies.

Idle-Empire is a little bit different than other small task sites since they try to build a community around their tasks.

Communicate with other members and talk about how you can increase your earnings even further, or just chat for fun.

When you refer friends, you get a 20% bonus on all of their earnings in addition to 50 points. In exchange, your friend receives a 500-point bonus.

8. Nielsen Computer And Mobile Panel

nielsen computer mobile panel homeapge

Get paid with the Nielsen Computer And Mobile Panel by installing an app on your phone and leaving it running in the background.

You can earn up to $50 per year per device. This means that you can install it on more devices (desktop, mobile app or tablet) to increase your earnings.

The reason that Nielsen is able to pay you is because they collect data and sell it to companies as market research. All of this information is kept anonymous so that no one can trace it back to you.

You also have the option to earn points with Nielsen when you watch videos from your phone through the Nielsen TV Ratings portion of the app.

Watch YouTube videos and you’ll be sending the company information on what videos you watch, how long you watch them for and the types of videos.

This is one of the better passive income apps out there.

The app takes up so little processing power and memory that you don’t have to worry about it slowing down your phone.

Nielsen allows you to earn points that can be traded in for free gift cards.

Still confused on how it works? Our full review of this app covers all you need to know.

9. Earnably

 • Registration Bonus: None
 • Join Earnably

make money completing small tasks with earnably

Earnably is another small task website that pays you to play games online, take paid surveys, watch videos and refer friends.

This is not a passive income earner, as you will need to hit “Next” to play the next videos.

A lot of people comment on just how easy it is to earn with this app.

Most users find that they can earn a decent amount of cash just by referring their friends. You get a 10% bonus on whatever they earn for life.

You need a minimum of $5 to cash out for PayPal cash or gift cards.

The amount you can make from watching videos from this app isn’t as high as other items listed here, but it’s still a decent earner. We recommend at least trying it out.

If you want to find out more information, read our Earnably Review.

10. AdWallet

adwallet pays you to watch ads

AdWallet is exactly ads it sounds. Get paid to watch ads online from your mobile phone or desktop computer.

The great thing about this company is that you earn in the form of cash, so you’re not confused about how much money your points convert to.

The videos you watch with AdWallet pay quite well. In fact, you can often receive between $.50 cents and $3 per short video.

The downside? There just aren’t that many videos available.

We recommend checking back every couple of days or so to see if there are new videos available.

Refer friends for even more cash to get a 10% bonus of whatever they earn. Unfortunately, they only allow a maximum of 3 paid referrals.

In order for AdWallet to function properly from your PC, you must turn of your ad blocker or the videos won’t run.

This is one of the few rewards apps that allows you to cash out directly to your bank account. You can also cash out via PayPal.

11. Creations Rewards

sign up for creations rewards

Earn money watching videos online through Creations Rewards.

I’ve only recently started using this site, but I couldn’t be any happier with it.

Their site is very similar to Swagbucks in which you get paid to watch videos and participate in a wide range of other activities.

Also get paid and earn points to take surveys, watch videos, complete small tasks and referring friends.

You get a $5 bonus when you earn your first $5 in your first 5 days, and their referral program gives you 10% of all your friends’ earnings.

Watching videos with Creations Rewards has a fairly decent payout rate when comparing to the other options on this list.

The great thing that I love about this site is that they only require a minimum of $5 to cash out.

If you try the site for a short amount of time and decide you don’t like it, you can easily quit and still walk away with something.

You can redeem your points for gift cards or PayPal money.

12. CashCrate

cashcrate welcome page

CashCrate has been around for a while now and they’re only growing stronger in terms of reputation.

Get paid to watch videos, shop online, take paid surveys, refer your friends and more. In short, it’s another short task site.

From watching videos alone I’ve found that I can earn an extra $20 – $30 per month.

If you’re looking at increasing your income even further, feel free to participate in the other tasks as well.

Their surveys also tend to have a decent payout rate.

Each time you complete a task you earn a certain amount of points.

These points can be exchanged for gift cards.

The unique thing about CashCrate is that you can also earn money by completing small side hustles or part time jobs.

You can also view all of their earning opportunities before you even sign-up for the site as a new user.

At this time, CashCrate does not currently offer any sort of welcome bonus.

13. App Trailers

download app trailers

Get paid to watch videos through App Trailers.

This is one of the simpler apps on the list since you can’t make money doing anything else.

The unique thing about App Trailers is that they categorize their videos fairly well. You can choose to watch movie trailers, ads for games or other options.

App Trailers isn’t as high of an earner, and it’s not a passive income earner either.

However, a lot of people tend to find their videos quite enjoyable. Most last around 30 seconds and pay 10 – 20 points.

The minimum amount of points you need to earn to redeem for prizes is 500 points. You can exchange your points for gift cards or PayPal cash.

The best part?

You’re paid instantly, so there’s absolutely no waiting involved.

14. National Consumer Panel

join national consumer panel

National Consumer Panel (previous known as Nielsen Homescan Consumer Panel) is a company that collects data on consumer habits.

This is an app that pays you to scan products that you purchase. Yet in addition, they also provide video surveys.

Most people choose to use their Apple or Android device to get started, but they will also send you a manual barcode scanner if needed.

After you sign-up for a short time, they will eventually give you quite a few video surveys that you can use to make money.

While you can get paid to watch videos, it’s not one of the primary ways to earn with this app.

Earn points that can be exchanged for a free gift card, prepaid card and other options.

15. GrabPoints

 • Registration Bonus: 500 points
 • Join GrabPoints

grabpoints homepage

GrabPoints allows you to get paid watching videos and completing other tasks directly from your phone.

This includes taking paid surveys, downloading smartphone apps, referring friends and more.

The best part? There’s an unlimited amount of videos you can watch.

When you watch videos, you earn points that can be exchanged for a free gift card to a retailer of your choice.

Unfortunately, this app is not passive due to the fact that you’ll need to close an ad after each video plays. This app pays 1 – 10 points per video.

One of the best ways to earn with the GrabPoints app is to download other smartphone apps. It takes longer, but the payout is much higher.

Tips For Maximizing Your Income With Video Watching Apps

Here are a few tips that I suggest you follow when it comes to watching video apps.

How Can I Get Paid To Watch Videos Online?

If you’re looking to get paid watching videos, simply install the app on your phone and start playing videos.

All of the apps on our list can be downloaded from either the Google Play Store or App Store.

Most apps allow you to earn points that you can exchange for real cash deposits via your PayPal account or free gift cards.

Don’t Stick With Just One App

I make sure to at least install a few money making apps on my phone.

Often times you’ll find that some apps have a limit on the amount of money you can earn in one day or a limit to the amount of videos you can watch. Diversify to maximize your earnings.

Get Multiple Phones

Since there’s so many different video watching apps on this list, it can be a bit difficult deciding which ones to run.

In order to get over this barrier, we suggest running these apps at the same time.

Most of the apps on this list also come with a website that you can watch on.

This means that you can also make money if you watch from your Desktop computer or laptop.

For those who are really into earning more cash, I suggest getting an extra phone or two.

With a desktop version and a couple of mobile phones running, you can easily run 3 or more of these apps.

If you’re looking for a cheap phone to run, try looking on Amazon Warehouse for buying refurbished phones. Any cheap smartphone will work.

Never Pay To Use an App

All of the apps on this list are 100% free.

If you’re ever asked to put in payment information to participate in a rewards app or website, it’s most likely a scam.

Don’t Use a VPN

Depending on the app, they may suspend your account if you’re using a VPN.

If you frequently use a VPN, either turn it off or contact the support team of the app and ask if the use of a VPN is permitted.

Get Paid Watching Videos Online In Your Free Time

If you’re looking to make some extra cash, running video apps can be a great way to increase your side-income.

I personally find that these apps are great for those with office jobs. You can run them under your desk or in your purse while working simultaneously.

If you’re having trouble deciding which of these apps to use, the main ones that we recommend are Swagbucks and Rewardia.

With these two apps alone, you’ll be able to maximize your earnings with the shortest amount of time possible.

InboxDollars also pays you to read emails, a ridiculously easy way to earn extra cash.

We’ve personally tried out all of the apps on this list, so we know that they’re legit ways to earn real cash.

For those of you who liked this article, you may also enjoy these other ways to get paid:

If you know of any other apps that pay you to watch videos online, we’d love to hear about them in the comments below.

Most survey sites offer a referral program. Simply share your link to your social media and let your friends and family know that they can join and get a side hustle for themselves. Besides, you can typically earn 10% of your friends’ earnings at no cost to them.

However, not every person likes this kind of job and you, being a teenager, might find other types of jobs in this article much more fun and enjoyable. No, we don’t mean house cleaning or other household chores. Thus, read on.

2. Get Paid for Playing Games

Want to earn free cash playing games?

Many teens are already playing games online, so why not earn some cash while you are at it?

Yes, creators of game apps have found a way to make you want to play and they are willing to pay for it!

Just be careful, as a game you really like can get to be addictive.

Here are a couple of “get paid to play” games that most teenagers might like:

 • VeryDice – This game pays you to roll virtual dice from your phone. Each time you roll the dice you earn a certain amount of points that can be exchanged for free gift cards. It’s 100% free to join and play.
 • Long Game Savings – This a great choice because it’s a fun way to get rewarded for making good financial decisions. You are rewarded for reaching your savings goals, and you get to play fun, addictive mobile app games right from your cell phone! You’ll get the chance to win up to $1 million.
 • App Cent– If you enjoy trying out new apps, you’re going to love App Cent. With this site, you get paid to play games with real coins that you can use for in-app purchases, gift cards, a PayPal deposit, or a Visa gift card absolutely free.

Has this side hustle sparked some interest?

Earning money this way is really easy and fun.

There are other sites like these you can search on your own or simply check out these 11 apps that pay you to play games.

3. Freelance Writing

Another type of side hustles for teens involves writing, which is a great way for you, as teenagers, to express yourselves and get your ideas out there. Actually, that’s a great way to earn money regardless of one’s age and is not reserved for teenagers only.

There are quite a few magazines on the web that offer payment to teens for their short stories and articles.

This is one of the most creative part time jobs and ways to make money.

Here are some examples:

 • CBAY Books: On this site, teens may submit a text on almost any topic. They will be paid if their work is used. Usually, a written notice is received if accepted or rejected but, keep in mind, as with a lot of writing gigs, it can take some time for a response.
 • Bumples Magazine: This is an interactive magazine with a preference for Christian authors. It is geared towards children, mostly those who are between 4 and 10 years old. They accept all genres.
 • Austin Macauley Publishers: This is a unique company. They accept manuscripts across all genres. So, if you’re a teen that enjoys writing, this could be the place for you to share your stories with a wider audience!
 • Spaceports and Spidersilk: This company publishes a magazine for children and teenagers and accepts written work and art.
 • Refractions: Golden Fleece Press, the company for Refractions, is accepting work of all types. They have a vast list of the content that sells best and those which are sought after. If you have a knack for writing for children, then this is a great place to begin!
 • Youth Imagination: The target audience for Youth Imaginations is teens. They publish the best-written works by teens and for teens. There is a bonus if you accept payment via PayPal.
 • Wee Tales: Wee Tales is under the same parent umbrella as Refractions. The same submission rules apply.

This is personally one of my favorite side hustle jobs for teens as you can write on any subject or topics that interest you while earning money in a creative way.

So, writing is just one of those great side hustles for teens that allows you to work from home and reach other people at the same time.

For that reason, we are moving to the next and one of the best side hustles for teens.

4. Blogging

This is the side hustle I place above all others, especially since it’s currently how I earn my full-time income.

So, blogging is a way to earn good money.

Most times, a teenager will more likely spend much time on social media, without paying much attention to blogs.

But, if you enjoy writing – research-based or creative – then blogging could be a good starting point for becoming an entrepreneur from the comfort of your home.

Eva Baker was a 16-year-old regular girl who started a blog called Teens Got Cents.

Within a couple of years, she was able to turn it into a business and now earns more than $5,000 a month from her blog alone, just five years later.

Blog monetization is usually a slow-and-steady process, but if you are a writing-lover and start one now, it’s possible that it can be a consistent money maker within a year or two.

Believe it or not, but many people still read blogs and they can be a great source of information!

It can eventually turn into a passive income money-making machine, a real business, which is awesome, especially as you’re starting it only as a side job.

Moreover, your social media presence can help you if you use it to share your blog with your followers and advertise it with the help of your family members, friends, and even classmates.

Finally, you can design your own blog so maybe graphic design or web design will draw your attention and become your dream job.

How Do I Start?

In order to start with a blog, you’ll need a domain name and hosting. We recommend using NameCheap to buy a domain.

When it comes to hosting, we recommend HostGator. You can get a starter plan for as little as $2.75/month when you sign up with promo FFL60.

If you’re completely new to blogging and don’t know where to begin, you’ll need a valid email address to join our Free 5-Day Money Making Blog Crash Course.

In this course, we teach you how to start a blog step-by-step, how to write great content, cover the basics of getting traffic via social media sites & Google, and how to make money through affiliate marketing.

Get started with blogging and develop the writing skills you will be able to monetize.

5. Social Media Manager

Even if you don’t want to start a blog, you should know that teens can still get a great gig at home by managing other blogs. Most people look for experience when they want to hire a social media manager. So, if you have experience on social media platforms and in communication with your followers, the odds are in your favor.

The position of a social media manager requires you to manage sites such as Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram by posting to them daily and responding to questions and comments, and possibly designing newsletters, which will all bring positive reviews and increase the site’s popularity.

How Do I Start?

If you love this type of job, the great thing is that there’s a lot of free material online through sites such as Udemy.

We suggest taking a few free courses until you grasp a solid foundation. If you can afford it, sometimes paid courses can be much more beneficial since they’re usually compiled by experts in the field.

From there, you can try reaching out to blogs via email or join sites like UpWork and go through the available job listings.

Besides, UpWork is a great website if you love logo design or other types of creative jobs as anyone might like what you have to offer.

How Much Can I Make?

The amount you can make as a social media manager greatly depends on your experience.

You’ll find that employers want to know how you managed to increase conversions, engagement, or traffic to previous sites.

A previous customer service experience can also be a big plus.

Since you’re a teen, you probably don’t have any experience, so expect to start out low. But if you build up a strong reputation, on average, social media managers can make as much as $50 per hour.

This is a great side hustle for teens that don’t mind spending a lot of time on social media or the computer.

6. Caring for Lawns

Lawn mowing isn’t the most exciting work for teenagers (or adults) to do, but it certainly offers you a lot of opportunities to make some cash.

There are three reasons for this:

 1. Lawn work is something people need all year long; it doesn’t depend on the season. During the summer, you mow lawns. The Fall is for raking leaves, and you can blow or shovel snow in the Winter. Also, Spring is the perfect time to get yards ready for gardening or looking their best with some landscaping. And, let me tell you, landscaping is quite a creative job. Yep, this is a great side gig that you can do all year, after school or on weekends.
 2. You don’t need a lot of experience to take care of lawns if you’re not doing professional-grade work. Most preteens and teens are perfectly capable of doing all of the above with little to no help.
 3. Many people among your neighbors can probably give you plenty of work. Neighbors are the perfect resource to tap into for virtually any side gig. You likely already know several of them, so it’s not like you’ll need to hunt down potential customers.

If you can operate lawn equipment like lawnmowers, edgers, trimmers, and other lawn and gardening tools, this might the perfect fit! If you cannot operate such equipment, ask someone to help you learn how to use them.

Many people from your generation lead a sedentary life, stuck to a laptop or a smartphone. Don’t be one of them. It’s a great job you can do in the afternoon or during weekends, get some good exercise, and make money while at it!

You can hand out some flyers to people in your neighborhood or talk directly to your neighbors while they’re out walking their dogs or doing their own lawn work.

Your neighbors will appreciate it.

7. Delivering Newspapers

Newspaper delivery is a traditional teen job that often gets overlooked while people try to find more creative ways to make money.

But, the truth is that it’s still one of the best ways for teens to earn cash because it’s pretty flexible.

Newspaper delivery is a great side hustle as it’s something you can do in the early morning before the school day starts or after school for an hour or two per day.

It just depends on your local newspaper and its guidelines.

8. Becoming a Party Character

How much fun would it be to get dressed up like different famous characters, head to a kids’ birthday party, and be the center of attention?

This is a fun gig that many people don’t think of.

There used to be a clown at my local pizza place on Tuesday nights and I’m sure you’ve seen characters at your local carnival or fair.

Most kids would love to have you around, especially if you’re one of those goofy teenagers that love making other people laugh.

Besides, you or your family member could post your pictures on social media not only to promote your new gig but also to show how much fun you’re having at parties!

But, it’s not all just fun and games.

Apart from having fun, teenagers find that this is a fairly easy way to earn money and even get paid a decent price for your time!

Check out this article on Thumbtack, which shows what a few people charge for dressing up as kid-favorite characters and making an appearance at a party.

How Much Can You Make?

Teenagers can expect to earn at an hourly rate of between $50 and $200.

You don’t have to be an employee of a company to do this, though.

Do you have an old Spiderman costume from Halloween?

Wear it, snap a few pictures, and post about it on a local Facebook group or any other social media platform.

Charge $25 instead of $50 per hour and you will probably have locals lining up to score your services at upcoming birthday parties.

9. Washing Cars

Many sports teams use car washes as a way to raise funds for uniforms, traveling, and other expenses.

As a teenager, you can cash in on washing cars yourself, if you don’t mind fronting the costs for soap, wash mitts, drying towels, and other materials you’ll need to get started.

Try setting up a weekend car wash in your driveway.

Put up signs around the neighborhood like you would for a yard sale or advertise it in Facebook groups.

You might even suggest that your friends join in to make it more fun, and they can all share their earnings.

How Much Can Be Earned Washing Cars?

A teenager can expect to earn around $5 to $20 per car.

The price can fluctuate based on the service, depending on whether people want interior detailing included, vacuuming, waxing the car and tires, etc.

This can easily turn into a full business you can continue throughout your schooling and after graduation.

10. Babysitting

Babysitting is a traditional side hustle for teens, the first job for a lot of teenagers, especially girls.

UrbanSitter’s 2017 survey on babysitting rates noted that the national average rate for babysitting is $15.20 per hour.

This number includes babysitters regardless of their age, so teens should probably lower that rate to somewhere between $8 and $10 per hour.

If your family knows another family well, maybe you can start babysitting their children at a younger age.

compared to a teen who has never met the kids before.

For example, I started babysitting when I was 13 for a family my family knew well.

The mom trusted me with her children because she knew how well we already got along and how much I loved them.

Talk to your friends and neighbors you know well; they might consider you as an after-school or weekend babysitter.

If you belong to the group of teenagers that’s between 14 and 17 years old, you can also sign up for a parent-monitored Care.com account to find more babysitting opportunities locally.

11. Pet Sitting or Dog Walking

Pet sitting or dog walking is a great part time job for a teen who loves animals and doesn’t mind spending extra time with them, as most busy pet owners are willing to pay good money to someone who will tend to their family members (i.e. pets) with great care.

Dog walkers not only have the opportunity to get outside and get some exercise into their day, but their dog walking service can also turn this job into a lucrative side business. Besides, being pet lovers, they can spend their day bonding with animals instead of being surrounded by grumpy people in the office.

According to Chron, you can typically charge anywhere from $10 to $15 per half hour when it comes to pet sitting or dog walking. This, of course, depends on the area in which you live.

Just make sure that you know how to take care of the pet. Furthermore, you’ll want to know where to take the pet in case of an emergency.

You can pet sitting your friends’ and neighbors’ pets when they’re away for an extended period of time or on vacation.

So, if you are a pet lover or know someone who loves pets, you already know that this is one of those wonderful side hustles for teens that allows you to earn money both part-time and full-time.

12. Poop-Scooping

On the other end of the animal spectrum of jobs, there’s poop-scooping.

No, it’s not very luxurious; if you love animals, you probably have your own pet, so you already know what poop-scooping looks like.

Still, it should be on our list of side hustles for teens, as this is a legitimate business that adults are making work for them.

There’s no reason that you can’t do the same.

Just look at DoodyCalls, a pet waste management service that cleans up dog poop from residential and business yards and community properties.

This is definitely a service that you can market easily by sticking an ad in the newspaper or advertising it in local Facebook groups.

While not the most enjoyable way to earn money, it’s incredibly simple, and you might enjoy it better than any of the household chores that your parents require of you.

13. Creating Artwork or Crafts

Most young people have some sort of hobby, and many of them are craft-related.

I’ve known girls who love to make hair bows or create sculptures and boys who put together model cars in record times or make gorgeous wood furniture and décor items.

Here are 10 more creative crafts you could create and sell for money:

 • Knitted scarves
 • Digital artwork
 • Pottery
 • Baked goods like cookies or brownies (these sell well on sites like Etsy and handmade marketplaces)
 • T-shirts
 • Designed coffee mugs
 • Chunky knit blankets
 • Hand sewn patches for jackets or backpacks
 • Jewelry
 • Scrunchies or hair accessories
 • Printable designs such as clothes and window stickers

You might turn your craft into a business by selling those crafts at a yard sale or flea market.

Many people are willing to pay more bucks for a handmade product.

So, teenagers who enjoy this type of work shouldn’t wait. Instead, use your skills, imagination, and potential, as marketplaces are open to all teenagers around the globe.

Therefore, you can put your sewing or knitting skills to good use and make some good bucks that way.

But, if you don’t think you have enough sales opportunities locally, you might consider setting up an Etsy account.

However, you’ll need to have someone, an adult friend or a family member, help you set up the Etsy shop because teenagers aren’t allowed to sell.

By becoming a young teenager entrepreneur, it will mean a little bit of work for you. You will gain experience in customer service by responding to messages and reviews, and monitoring orders.

Likewise, you’ll have to package items to fulfill and ship orders on your own.

14. Tutoring

Yet, tutoring is not hard and it’s a great side hustle for teenagers that are strong in a subject.

Many teenagers need help in understanding a subject matter. Therefore, if you have the knowledge, you can not only help other students cope with difficulties but you can also earn money by becoming a tutor.

The great advantage of this part-time job is that it is flexible and will help you gain better communication and tutoring skills.

As a tutor, you will be helping kids and other teenagers with their studies, which is even a great preparation for your life as a college student.

Clients will vary, but you can earn good money, which is why tutoring is definitely one of the best options when you’re looking for a side job.

Sometimes schools will offer tutoring services and you will report to the school for work.

Other times you may find students through an agency or privately by a parent.

As a teen, you probably won’t get paid as much as an adult, but you can still make some great money.

What Are The Requirements?

Tutors should be friendly, helpful, and strong in the subject they are tutoring.

You can find tutoring jobs by doing a local search in your community:

 • Check with local school districts
 • Search in community Facebook groups
 • Look at ads in the newspaper

The biggest advantage of this job is that you already possess all the tools of the trade that you need, which is your knowledge of a subject you’re good at. Although anyone might need help, not everyone will ask for it. So, just let the word out that you are a tutor looking for students in your neighborhood.

15. Creating Videos

This type of work is not one of the traditional and conventional side hustles for teens, but kids as young as preschool age are making money creating YouTube videos.

The most popular way to monetize a channel for young children is by reviewing or unboxing toys.

What a fun way for you to make money, getting paid to play with toys or free stuff!

However, there are so many directions children and teens can go with this (pending parental approval and supervision, of course).

One 16-year-old YouTuber named Tanner Braungardt shot to stardom on YouTube after creating videos about pranks, stunts, and more.

He now has close to 4 million subscribers, which can generate a lot of revenue from ads.

Other teen YouTube stars get major views from things like makeup tutorials, dance routines, singing (think: Justin Bieber), and more.

How to Get Started with Video Creation

The good thing about creating YouTube videos is that you can start without anyone’s help with the tools you already possess – your smartphone.

A pricey DSLR camera or fancy equipment isn’t required.

Many video creators start with recording on their cell phones.

In fact, viral sensation Kayla Nicole from Nicole TV grew to millions of subscribers, making a full-time living from her YouTube channel filming on her cell phone!

It’s free to join YouTube and other video networks.

You can create videos in your free time, upload them, and start making money with your videos.

It’s a great side hustle that won’t take too much of your time.

In fact, many kids started doing this from a young age and it grew to a full-time income level while working part-time.

16. Live Streaming

Live streaming video games is an awesome example of side hustle jobs for teenagers.

Game playing has become a lucrative business for teens.

If you’re playing video games, you might as well make some money off it!

Twitch.tv is a popular live streaming service that allows teenagers to join with parental permission and supervision.

Not only can you live stream gameplay to others who want to watch, but you can make money through ads.

Much like YouTube, the more viewers you have, the better your ad revenue will be.

If you develop a good subscriber base, you can also sign up to be a Twitch.tv partner.

Through the program, you have the opportunity to earn $2.50 per month for every subscriber you have, which can bring you a significant income.

17. Performing Arts

Many towns – even small ones – have opportunities for people who are into the arts, such as dance, theater, or music.

A lot of performing arts theaters ask for volunteers for performances.

But, that doesn’t mean that there’s no chance for you to make money.

You can always ask your local theater if there are any paid spots for you to perform or even help out backstage.

If you’re crafty, you might be able to get a local museum or art gallery interested in buying something you’ve made with your own hands.

There could also be some community contests that award cash prizes for artwork, talent shows, and more.

It’s worth checking out.

18. Scavenging for Recyclables

Some recyclables can really pay off, especially if you don’t mind getting a little dirty to find things worth some money.

Some states, for example, offer cash back for cans and bottles that you turn in. California will pay 5 cents for most bottles or cans up to 24 ounces, and 10 cents for larger ones, while Oregon pays a flat 10 cents for bottles.

You can also rummage for scrap metal, which pays differently depending on the type of metal it is.

You can use the iScrapApp to find a scrapyard near you to inquire about their prices for each type of metal.

19. Designing T-Shirts

If you like graphic design, you could practice drawing, painting, and designing t-shirts or printables you can sell separately.

However, if you really enjoy arts, you won’t consider this to be one of those ordinary side hustles for teens but a way for you to grow and develop your arts.

For that reason, you could consider other types of arts such as t shirt design, graphic, and web design and make a website to promote your business.

Likewise, you might consider logo design, which is also a very creative process.

However, t-shirt businesses are huge right now and graphic design is a growing trade.

Several sites let you use an online designer program that requires little to no designing skills.

They’ll even take care of printing and shipping your shirts.

Then, you get the difference between the cost of the shirt and what the customer pays.

How to Get Started?

It couldn’t be a simpler business model.

The trick is to find a niche that’s not overly-saturated.

If you want to go this route, we suggest that you focus on your own interest that you can branch out of, like shirts related to your favorite sport.

First, you pick a niche, like nurses, football, etc.

Then come the design phase and the creation of the final product.

Lastly, pick a platform and upload eye-catching designs along with setting pricing.

Where Can T-Shirts Be Sold?

Some sites will require that a parent sets up and maintains the shop, so be sure to look over the Terms of Service before getting started.

Here are a few online t-shirt companies that will let you sell quickly and easily:

Engage your family members to advertise your skills as a graphic designer by dressing them up in the t-shirt you designed and have them post their photographs on their social media accounts, either on Pinterest, Instagram, or Facebook.

20. Selling Photos

Are you a photography fanatic?

If you’re seeking side hustles for teens revolving around a hobby or passion you have, if you have an interest in photography, look no further.

There are several websites and apps that will pay for your pictures!

Foap is an app that you can use to upload photos straight from your cell phone to sell to others.

Some brands even create missions for themed photos and the winners can receive prize money.

Where Can Photos Be Sold for Money?

Try some of the following websites that will pay you when someone downloads your photos:

Make Extra Cash with These Side Hustles for Teens

Finding side jobs for teens can be difficult since there aren’t as many job opportunities available. However, once you land something, especially if it’s a creative type of work, it can look great on your job resume to further increase your job prospects.

How to Make Money as a 13 Year Old?

It’s not hard to make money when you are only 13. Just read our article carefully and you will see that we have compiled a good list of side hustles you can do, from playing games to being creative and having all the freedom to do what you like to do.

Which Are Some of the Money Making Hobbies?

Most side gigs you can do while going to school.

However, those side hustles for teens are more profitable long term.

For that reason, we encourage you to focus on your talents, creativity, and any skill you have to start earning money and thinking about personal finance and savings at a young age.

You can monetize almost any creative hobby such as photography, web design, graphic design, sewing, knitting, crocheting, drawing, painting, making items from various materials.

You can put any skill you have to good use and earn more money this way than if you would by working in fast-food restaurants, bake sales, or u haul, moving furniture, especially since the covid 19 pandemic currently affects jobs in these sectors.

Earning money can be really hard even if the job is easy if you don’t like what you do. So, make sure you find a job that you will enjoy, regardless of what that is.

Final Thoughts

Although working as a camp counselor in summer camps is a great way to have fun and socialize, it is not an easy part time job, especially not during summertime when you want a vacation, to relax and hang out with friends.

We weren’t able to cover everything on our list when it comes to side jobs, but hopefully, you can find at least one side hustle on this list to help you earn extra cash.

We assure you that some of these jobs are fun (even lawn mowing is a great side business when compared to house cleaning and other types of household chores) and you can earn good money.

If you have any other side hustles for teens, let us know in the comments below this article.

 • Join HQ

One of the most popular apps out there, HQ is a fun and exciting live trivia game that allows you to compete for some great cash prizes.

The average prize is $5,000, but some special events set the prize upwards of $25,000 or more.

When you log in to play, you’re up against hundreds of thousands of other players to take the top prize, with most games reaching over 1 million players at a time.

You answer questions on the screen one at a time and have the chance to see how many players remain after each question.

Get every question right and you split the prize with everyone else still left in the game.

In some high-stakes games, there can only be one winner, so you have to answer every question correctly until you’re the only one left in order to win the cash prize.

HQ has taken the world by storm, with millions of downloads between both Android and iOS.

It’s a simple, addicting game that’s very entertaining – the live show has excellent hosts and even some celebrity guests from time to time.

Even if you don’t win, it’s still fun to try. There are typically two games per day, with games on Sundays offering the highest cash payouts.

15. Pogo

If you want to earn playing games across multiple consoles, Pogo allows you to do just that.

This incredible app has paid and free games that are available for your phone, PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and more.

You’ll find games for every style of play – whether you’re interested in poker or arcade games, you’ll find it on Pogo.

Very few apps offer this vast of a selection of games. There are two ways to earn – you can enter to win the daily drawing of $50, and you can also win a $500 jackpot just for playing games.

The app offers a free and paid version. The free version gives you access to a ton of games that you can play to earn points and enter drawings.

With the paid version at $6.99 per month, you can enter tournaments to compete for additional points, and remove ads from the app. You’ll also get access to an additional 40 games.

While we don’t recommend paying monthly just for the chance to win more money, if you’re into gaming and want some additional games to play, it’s not a bad deal.

The tournament option adds some fun and excitement and you’ll have access to exclusive games that free users don’t have access to.

16. PCHGames

You’ve heard of Publisher’s Clearing House, but did you know that they have an app that pays you to play games?

Prizes range from $1 to $1 million, so it’s a great way to win some serious cash if you’re lucky. You can also connect the PCHGames app to your PCHrewards program.

When you register as a PCHGames player, you’ll get four times the amount of tokens that you can use in the PCHrewards exchange.

If you don’t win money, you’ll still earn points that you can use to enter sweepstakes, raffles, and daily lottery pulls. You can also earn gift cards to places like Amazon, Target, and Walmart.

The best part about this app is that you can play for free every day. You’ll get free scratch cards and lottery entries every day, with new entries and scratch-offs refreshing overnight.

Lucky Day is a simple and fun way to pass the time and potentially win some money or prizes.

18. Big Time Cash

Unlike some apps that allow you to earn by playing games, taking surveys, and watching videos, Big Time Cash focuses solely on games.

With over 600 fun games to choose from, you’ll be able to play for hours and redeem your rewards for some great prizes.

After playing a game you’ll receive tickets – these tickets are used to enter drawings for cash. The more tickets you put in the drawing, the higher the chance you have to win.

The best part about this app is that there are no in-app purchases needed and it isn’t a pay-to-win system. The games are completely free to play and you don’t have to pay anything to enter the drawings.

Big Time Cash uses part of its advertising revenue to fund the drawings, so the more people that join and play, the bigger the cash payouts.

If you love playing games on your phone, this is a great app for you – there are tons of games to choose from and you can get paid doing what you already do.

The interface is simple to use and the rewards system is very straightforward.

19. Lucktastic

Lucktastic has a fun rewards system that you can use to redeem for gift cards and other prizes. After selecting your ticket, you simply need to watch a 30-second advertisement.

Then you’ll have the chance to scratch off your ticket – each ticket includes a bonus scratch off, where you’re guaranteed to win either points or cash.

Most cash payouts are under $0.25, but hit enough cash payouts and that can add up quickly.

Other bonus prizes are points that you can use to redeem for prizes in the prize store. You can redeem points for physical prizes or exchange them for gift cards to countless popular retailers.

Scratching off tickets takes just a few minutes out of your day, and every ticket is a guaranteed win, so what do you have to lose?

20. SendEarnings

SendEarnings works exactly like InboxDollars – the tasks are about exactly the same and even the layout is extremely similar.

Get paid to read emails, play games, take surveys, participate in polls, refer friends and more. The best part? You get a $5 bonus just for registering as a new user.

Keep in mind you do need a minimum of $25 in your account to cash out for a gift card or a PayPal deposit. However, it usually doesn’t take that long to reach this long. Expect about a week to receive your prize.

When you refer a friend, you earn 10% of all of their earnings for life without taking away from their earnings.

21. Long Game

 • Registration Bonus: 500 coins when you link your account
 • Join Long Game

Long Game is an app that rewards you for making the right financial decisions – it also rewards you for playing fun and addicting mini-games right in the app.

By linking up your savings account to the app, you get in-game rewards whenever you add money to your savings account.

You can use these rewards to play fun games and have the chance to win real money, up to $1 million.

The app is great for anyone looking to save up for a large purchase, trip, or a rainy day fun. You’re rewarded for sticking to your savings plan and can win money to help you on your savings journey.

You get bonus coins just for signing up and can automatically win coins by setting up AutoSave, which automatically moves money into your savings account.

You’ll also learn great financial tips and tricks from leading financial experts.

From savings accounts and retirement accounts to mortgages and loans, there’s a wealth of information in the app that you can access while playing fun and interactive games.

22. VeryDice

 • Registration Bonus: 30 rolls when you use promo code 1228038 to sign-up
 • Join VeryDice

VeryDice is both simple and addicting.

In this simple game, you click the screen to roll a pair of dice.

From there, you earn a certain amount of points depending on the total that you roll.

However, that’s not all.

You can choose to use a ‘multiplier’ to earn points quicker as well as earn extra points for rolling doubles.

I guarantee that it will be difficult to put this game down once you get started.

Points can be exchanged for actual prizes (that all can be found on the Amazon website) or for a gift card of your choice.

Something for Everyone

These are just a few of the countless apps out there that you can use to play games and win real money and prizes.

However, it’s important to know that not all apps claiming to offer prizes are legitimate or even worth your time. The apps on this list all offer great prizes and a lot of fun.

Even if you don’t win any money, these apps are worth downloading just for the games and entertainment.

From scratch-offs to arcade games and everything in between, you can easily turn your gaming into cash, prizes, and gift cards.

Just a few minutes each day will let you build up your winnings and potentially win a large cash prize.

Be wary of any apps that require you to pay for the chance of winning money – you shouldn’t have to pay for the chance to win, and it’s a sign that it may be a scam.

With so many free alternatives out there offering excellent prizes, you don’t need to pay.

Living a frugal lifestyle doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice on fun – as you can see, there are plenty of ways to have fun playing games on your phone while also making some money.

Fortunately, there are plenty of open opportunities to get free Visa gift cards.

These cards are one of the best options as a free reward since you can use it anywhere Visa is accepted, and they’re literally as good as cash.

We went ahead and did all the research to show you the best companies that actually do offer visa gift cards for free.

Want to Make Extra Money Now?

10 Best Ways to Score Free Visa Gift Cards

Below is a list of the 10 ways to get a Visa gift card.

In addition, we’ve listed out the pros and cons of each item as well as how it works and what other prizes you can cash out for.

Keep in mind that the form of payment will most likely be in the form of a physical or virtual prepaid Visa debit card or credit card.

And to give you even more reassurance, we know that these methods actually work because we’ve personally tested each and every one of them.

The best part? They’re all 100% free to join.

1. Swagbucks

swagbucks welcome page

Swagbucks is one of the most popular rewards sites that pays you for completing tasks through their website or mobile app.

To date they’ve given over $400 million dollars to their users since their founding in 2008.

Earn cash for completing tasks that you most likely already do on a daily basis. This includes:

 • Playing games
 • Watching videos
 • Completing online surveys
 • Clipping coupons
 • Surfing the web through their search engine
 • Taking polls
 • More

For most users, the easiest and quickest way to earn money is when you answer surveys for money or watch videos.

When watching videos through Swagbucks, all you need to do is hit the “Play” button. From there, sit back and relax without having to hit a “next” button to continue.

In fact, you can even leave the computer and come back later and you’ll notice that your videos are still playing. This a great way to earn passive income.

When it comes to completing online surveys, members state that they can usually earn around $5 for completing surveys for 30 minutes of their time.

This platform gives you a $10 signup bonus when you first sign-up (this may vary by country).

The only downside is that since they have so many options to choose from, it can be a bit overwhelming.

Cash out for your Visa prepaid card once you reach a minimum of $5 (5,000 Swagbucks), a gift card to other retailers or to your PayPal account.

Swagbucks is definitely one of the best options on this list due to their high earnings rate.

You can also earn on the go by downloading their app from the Google Play Store or App Store.

Need more information? Here’s a guide on the 10 best ways to make money fast with Swagbucks.

2. Branded Surveys

branded surveys homepageBranded Surveys is quickly becoming one of the most popular survey sites out there, and for good reason.

Although their payout rate isn’t as high as other online survey sites such as Survey Junkie, their payout rate is still high in comparison.

Right away you’ll be asked to complete a welcome survey for a 50 point bonus when you register as a new user.

When earning points with Branded Surveys, 1 point is equivalent to $.01 cent. Each survey pays anywhere between 10 to 300 points and takes anywhere from 10 – 20 minutes.

Users who frequently take surveys through this platform will earn even more.

Complete a set amount of surveys within a certain timeframe (such as 7 days) and earn a silver or gold badge.

Badge members can earn extra points for the surveys that they complete.

And if you don’t want to answer surveys for money, Branded Surveys also pays you for taking daily polls and referring friends.

Earn anywhere from 50 to 100 points for each friend you refer depending on the badge that you have.

On average, I find that it’s not difficult to earn $10 per hour or more when taking surveys with Branded Surveys, making this one of the best paid online survey sites out there.

You need a minimum of $10 in earned points to cash out. Payment methods include a gift code of your choosing or for free PayPal cash.

This company is available for both residents of the US and the UK.

3. Ibotta

earn with ibotta

Ibotta is a cash back app that pays you money for shopping on the Internet or in-store.

For in-store shopping, the only thing you need to do to earn cash back on your purchases is to take a picture of your receipt.

This includes convenience stores, grocery stores, pharmacies and many other places.

Look on the app, see what offers they have at a particular retailer, make your purchase and scan the receipt to your phone.

Right now they currently are partnered with over 341 popular merchants such as Target an Walmart.

For getting cash back when shopping online, Ibotta also functions as a cash back portal.

All you need to do is go through the Ibotta app and find the retailer you wish to shop at. Click on the link, and the app will automatically redirect you to that retailer’s page.

Make a purchase like you normally would, and Ibotta automatically tracks your purchase and gives you cash back for it. Expect to earn anywhere between 1% and 5% back.

My favorite part about this app is that they give you a $20 sign up bonus when you join as a new user an scan your first receipt.

Want even more money? For each friend you refer, you earn an additional $10.

Ibotta is one of the most popular receipt scanning apps for saving money if you’re looking to earn cash back and achieve your personal finance goals.

A minimum of $20 is needed to cash out. Payment methods include a prepaid gift card to Visa, cash via PayPal or earn gift cards to other retailers.

Check out our Ibotta guide for more ways to earn gift cards with this saving money app.

4. PointClub

register for pointclub

PointClub is a survey site that works across many different countries, but users in the United States will receive the most survey opportunities.

You’re given a nice signup bonus of $5 when you join as a new member.

What I really enjoy about PointClub is that they have incredibly high earnings for a survey site.

In order to maximize your earnings, the best way you’re going to earn is by using their tier system.

For each day you log-in consecutively, PointClub gives you a 10% bonus on all your points earned. This amount can be stacked up to a maximum of 100%.

However, forget to log-in one day consistently and your tier resets to nothing.

If you reach the maximum tier at 100% earnings (by logging-in 10 days in a row and keep logging-in), you can earn at a rate of close to $15 per hour,.

Yet if you don’t use the tier bonuses, you’re only going to earn around $8 per hour.

I also really enjoy PointClub for the wide amount of surveys that they have available. For this reason, users typically always have some way to earn.

Earn additional points with this survey platform by referring friends and getting a 10% bonus on their earnings.

Once you reach 20 referrals, you’re given the title of “Brand Ambassador” and your referral earning bump up to 20%.

I can’t recommend this site enough for earning prepaid virtual gift card to Visa for free.

And if you want to find out how to maximize your earnings, read our PointClub review.

5. Prize Rebel

sign up for prizerebel

Prize Rebel is quickly becoming one of the best paid online survey sites out due to their generous payout rate.

To put simply, Prize Rebel pays you to share your opinion.

The amount you can earn per hour depends on your demographics, but a lot members report earning at a rate of around $10 per hour. Of course, this is provided that you stick with the higher-paying surveys.

You need a minimum of $25 to cash out, which is a bit high compared to other survey sites. However, most users report reaching the minimum balance quite quickly.

Each time you take a survey you earn points that you can redeem for cash prizes such as virtual Visa gift cards, gift cards to other retailers, free PayPal cash and more.

Earn even more with Prize Rebel through their referral program.

They give you a 20% bonus on all of your friends’ earning for life (without taking away from their earnings). This bonus is a lot higher than most survey sites out there.

Unfortunately, Prize Rebel is not currently offering any sort of sign-up bonus.

If you want to find out more about this website, read our Prize Rebel review.

6. Nielsen Computer And Mobile Panel

join the nielsen computer an mobile panel

The Nielsen Computer and Mobile Panel is a market research company that gives you free money just for downloading thieir app to your phone.

Leave the app installed in the background, and Nielsen will pay you free cash for sharing pieces of information.

This includes how many texts you send per day, how much time you spend on phone calls, etc. Nielsen then takes this data and then sells it to market research companies.

The Nielsen app will not read any personal information through your texts or listen in on any of your phone calls.

Furthermore, all information is kept anonymous, so they won’t be able to link it back to you.

You can expect to earn around $50 per year per device with this passive income app.

Install the app on multiple devices and you can double or even triple your earnings.

As far as we know, right now Nielsen doesn’t have any strict requirements on the amount of devices you can install the app on.

You can earn a free prepaid Visa virtual card by using the points that you earn by entering drawings. Usually these drawings award you with a $100 virtual Visa card, and sometimes even more.

Earn free gift cards to a retailer of your choice if you don’t wish to participate in prize drawings.

This app is available on both Google Play and the App Store.

Read our Nielsen Computer and Mobile Panel review to understand more about this mobile app.

7. MyPoints

mypoints registration page

MyPoints is a platform that pays you to watch videos, take surveys, surf the net and other options.

When you sign-up as a new user and earn $20 in your first 30 days, you get a $10 bonus in the form of a Visa virtual card or a free Amazon gift card.

The best way to earn extra money with MyPoints is by taking surveys or using their shopping portal.

With the shopping portal, simply log-in and browse one of the many retailers that they’ve partnered with.

On the platform, click on the retailer’s link that you wish you wish to shop at to be redirected to the retailer’s homepage.

Simply make a purchase like you normally would and MyPoints automatically tracks your purchase.

MyPoints earns a small commission when you use their link, and they give a portion of it back to you in the form of cash back.

MyPoints requires a minimum of $10 to claim your Visa card.

And for each friend who joins via your referral link or email invitation, you receive an additional 25 points.

If you’re looking to get more out of MyPoints, we’ve written up a full MyPoints review.

8. Inbox Dollars

inbox dollars 5 dollar registration bonus

Earning rewards with Inbox Dollars is very similar to a few other sites already mentioned on this list.

This small task site pays you for completing tasks that you already on a daily basis. Earn money by:

 • Watching videos
 • Reading emails
 • Taking surveys
 • Surfing the web through their search engine
 • Referring friends
 • Playing games
 • More

The great thing about this platform and mobile app is that you can earn cash just by opening your inbox.

This only takes a few seconds, and you’re granted a minimum of a few cents.

Unlike other rewards sites out there, Inbox Dollars doesn’t have you accumulate points and redeem them. Instead, they pay you straight in cash so there’s no need to convert.

Receive a $5 bonus when you join and a 10% bonus on any friends that you refer without taking away from their earnings.

The best an easiest way to earn with Inbox Dollars is either by reading emails, referring friends or taking surveys.

When it comes to taking surveys, we estimate that you can earn at a rate of roughly $8 to $10 per hour. Again, this depends on your demographics, meaning some users may earn more than others.

Redeem your points for a Visa prepaid gift card or earn free gift cards to a retailer of your choice.

Still confused? We also have an Inbox Dollars review with more information.

9. Opinion Outpost

earn free visa gift cards with opinion outpost

Opinion Outpost is another well-known survey site that gives you cash in exchange for sharing your opinion.

Earn points each time you complete a survey and redeem them for a prepaid Visa gift card.

The great thing about this survey site is that each time you complete a survey, you earn points and you’re automatically entered into a free prize drawing.

Their drawings are often quarterly and award one random member $10,000 USD.

Receive a 5 point bonus ($.50 cents) when you register as a new user and complete the welcome survey.

Keep in mind that the surveys you receive from other users may be different depending on your demographics that you fill out in the welcome survey.

Refer friends and receive an additional 5 points when they sign up using your referral link.

Another great thing about Opinion Outpost is their low payout minimum. You only need to have earned $3 to redeem for a gift voucher or cash via PayPal.

Opinion Outpost doesn’t pay as much as other top survey platforms, but it’s another great one to add to your list.

Expect to earn at a rate of anywhere between $8 to $12 per hour.

The one downside about this program? They sometimes send you too many email notifications.

Looking for more details regarding Opinion Outpost? Here’s our full review.

10. Opinion Square

opinion square review

Opinion Square works a little bit differently than most survey sites out there.

Like most paid survey platforms, this company sends you email notifications with new survey opportunities once you join.

Yet Opinion Square offers their users a chance to earn even more when you install their software to your computer.

The reason to install their software?

This increases your eligibility for surveys and since they can provide you with questions that are most relevant to the products and services that you use. In short, you’re getting paid for data sharing.

Keep in mind that the data they extract does not include any personal information such as reading your emails. They mostly want to track what software you use, information about your computer, etc.

Furthermore, all information is kept completely anonymous so there’s no way anyone can trace it back to you.

You can uninstall their software at any time.

On average you should expect anywhere between 3 to 4 surveys per month. Although this amount is quite low, they all pay at a decent rate.

The other great thing about Opinion Square is that you’re automatically entered into a drawing for $100,000 USD each time you take a survey.

Get free Visa prepaid cards or a gift voucher of your choice when you redeem your points. Keep in mind that points do expire, so use them quickly.

How Can I Get Visa Gift Cards For Free?

There are lots of ways when it comes to earning a virtual prepaid Visa gift card at no cost to you.

But the most efficient way is by using the sites Swagbucks. They always pay out on time and are one of the best earners on our list.

For those simply looking for the company that pays the most, we recommend either Survey Junkie or Vindale Research.

With these top survey sites, you can make extra money completing surveys for PayPal cash and then use the money to buy a Visa virtual card.

If you’re finding that one of the methods on our list doesn’t work for you, try another one until you do find one that does.

For me personally, when I have a few minutes at home or am waiting in line, I can take a paid survey or two for some easy points.

These methods also serve as a great way to help you reach your personal finance goals.

And even if you don’t want to claim your free Visa gift card, you can always cash out for another gift card. An Amazon gift card is also a popular choice.

We hope you’ve enjoyed this list of 10 best ways to get a Visa gift card for free. Have other ways to earn? Let us know in the comments below.

Want to Make Extra Money Now?

Passive income apps are an excellent way to make money online for doing absolutely nothing.

And the great thing is that the only time you have to spend on them is for the initial setup process.

Once that’s complete, all you have to do is leave the app installed, kick back and earn extra money without having to lift a figure.

The best part? They’re all 100% free to join.

However, it can be difficult to find the best apps that are actually legit and not a scam, and that’s why we’ve put together this article.

10 Best Passive Income Apps

Down below you’ll find a list of the 10 best passive income apps that help you earn money by doing nothing.

I’ve personally tested each of these apps so we know that they actually work.

For each of the items on this list, you’ll find out how it works, why it’s worth your time and an estimate of how much you can expect to make.

Let’s get started.

1. Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel

nielsen computer mobile app

The Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel makes number one on our list for a reason.

It’s a great way to earn money by just creating an account and leaving an app installed on your phone.

Although it’s not the highest-paying, they allow you to install the app on multiple devices per household.

With this in mind, you can easily double, triple or even quadruple your income.

The Nielsen Consumer Panel pays you to collect data about your phone.

This typically includes information such as what browser you use and many messages you send on a daily basis.

Nielsen Consumer Panel is available for desktoptablet, and mobile devices.

However, what you earn depends on the type of device.

For those who download the Nielsen software on their desktop, you only earn free entries into monthly sweepstakes in which you can earn up to $1,000.

For this reason, we suggest first installing the app on either a tablet or mobile device since they actually pay you a certain amount of money per month.

It’s difficult to determine exactly when you earn with Nielsen Consumer Panel, but expect to earn cash once or twice a month.

The longer you leave the mobile app installed, the more bonuses you receive.

Still want more information? Check out our full review here.

2. MobileXpression

join mobilexpression

In order to sign-up for MobileXpression you must do so from your mobile device.

After signing-up they give you a $5 Amazon gift card for free within just weeks for becoming a new member.

However, expect to only earn an extra $15 per year on top of that running this app.

While the amount isn’t much, we’ve still found it worth it to run the app since it’s such an easy app to install.

Aside from earning cash passively, you’ll also be given tokens that can be used to participate in their sweepstakes drawings.

Although they’re difficult to win, you might as well try since it’s free.

Keep in mind that MobileXpression requires you install a VPN on your device.

If you’re running a rewards program that doesn’t permit the use of VPNs, just be aware that you may possibly have some conflict.

I’ve personally left my MobileXpression app left running on my phone for years. I check back every few months and cash out for free money – easy money.

If you’re looking for more detailed information, be sure to read our MobileXpression review.

3. Smart App

smart app landing page

The Smart App (previously known as Smart Panel) starts off great by giving you a $5 bonus when you register as a new user.

Available for iOS, Android and Windows devices, Smart Panel collects data regarding how long you use your phone and what apps you have installed.

They use this information to then help improve the internet.

In order to determine your eligibility with the Smart Panel platform, you must first take a short survey. As long as you answer that you have some sort of smart device, you shouldn’t have any problems qualifying.

The longer you leave the mobile app on your phone, the higher your bonuses you’ll earn. If you leave the app installed for one year you will earn $110 in passive income.

For two years you’ll earn $230, or a bonus of $10 for leaving the app on your phone for an extra per year.

On average, users of the app report a 1% – 5% deduction in battery life with negligible impact on performance. Expect the app to use about 2 MB – 5 MB per month in data, a very small amount.

You need to wait a minimum of 30 days to cash out for free gift cards.

4. Fundrise

how fundrise works

Looking for a way to make money from real estate and earn passive income from it? Fundrise is the investment app to meet your needs.

This real estate crowdfunding platform allows you to invest in a diversified portfolio in private properties.

Fundrise strictly follows what is called a “value investing” model in which they attain assets for much less than what their actual value is.

Not only that, but their portfolio is specifically built to withstand times of economic distress (which is great for those who are worried about the markets during COVID-19).

From 2014 to 2019, they’ve had an annualized return of anywhere between 9% and 12% – it’s difficult to find these returns anywhere.

Their studies also show that they outperform more common investments such as public real estate or public bonds.

The best part?

You can even personally look at that properties they’re investing in and judge for yourself whether they’re making a good decision or not.

Fundrise can be a great choice for those looking to diversify their ways to earn passive income and want to get into real estate without spending lots of money to do so.

Join with our referral link and you get 3 months of advisory for $0. It’s definitely one of the best passive income apps on this list.

If you want to invest money with Fundrise, connect your bank account deposit the amount that you want to invest.

5. Acorns App

how acorns works

Want to start investing but not sure how?

Acorns is a passive income investment app that helps you earn money by deciding where to invest your money for you based on professional financial experts.

Instead, you’re given 5 different risk levels that range from conservative to aggressive.

Typically young investors – provided that they aren’t in any substantial debt – will be suggested to take part in an aggressive investing style.

For those looking to have the mobile app do almost 100% of the investing for you, this is a great place to look since all of the investing is done automatically.

What I love about this app is the spare change option.

If you link your credit card to your Acorns account, each time you spend money the card will automatically round your purchase up to the nearest dollar.

The difference between your actual purchase price and the the amount spent on your card will be deposited into your account.

This app also requires that you pay $1 per month or .025% of your total investment amount over $5,000, exactly like the Stash app.

However, college students don’t have to pay anything for up to 4 years.

A valid edu email address in order to determine if you’re a college student.

When a friend signs-up using your referral link you get a $5 bonus and so does your friend.

If you want more information, read our Acorns review.

6. HoneyGain

how honeygain works

Another app that pays you just for leaving it installed on your phone.

This app works very similarly to the Nielsen Computer and Mobile Panel. Simply leave it on in the background and earn cash.

HoneyGain pays you on the amount of internet bandwidth you use. This means that the more you use, the more you earn.

One way to earn a lot through HoneyGain is to try watching videos through the Swagbucks app. Swagbucks pays you to watch videos, and since they take up a lot of bandwidth thus increasing your income with HoneyGain.

The great thing about this app is their referral structure.

For every friend you refer, they get a $5 bonus and in exchange you earn 10% of whatever they earn for life.

This app doesn’t take up a lot of memory or processing power on your phone, so you won’t even notice it.

Not including referral income, you can expect to earn around $30 per month if you use up to 10 GB per day.

In order to start earning a passive income with HoneyGain, install the app to your phone, create an account using your name, email and a password that you create. From there, let it sit in the background on your smartphone.

Check back every few months and cash out your points.

To find out exactly how it works, read our HoneyGain review.

7. Rakuten

join rakuten

Rakuten (formerly known as Ebates) is one of many cashback portals that pays you to shop online (and sometimes in-store) and is an easy way to save money fast.

Instead of going directly to the retailer’s webpage, go to Rakuten instead.

This company has partnered with over thousands of retailers across the web such as Walmart, Nordstroms and more.

On their app, you’ll find affiliate links to these retailers. When you click on one of these links and make a purchase, they earn a commission.

Instead of keeping all of this commission for themselves, they give it back to you in the form of cashback.

It’s a win-win situation.

The best part about Rakuten is that they give you a $10 welcome bonus in the form of a free gift card to Walmart and other retailers.

The other great thing about Rakuten is that they often have promo codes and discount codes that can be stacked with your cashback discount.

Rakuten is just one of many apps that pays you to shop. Since you’re already shopping online, you might as well make money for it.

Feeling lazy? You can also install their browser extension to help you out.

This is one of the better best passive income apps mentioned here, earning you extra money on shopping without the extra time.

The best way to earn with this cashback app is to only shop at stores you would normally. Some people find that the incentive for earning cashback influences them to purchase things they wouldn’t normally buy.

8. ScreenLift

how screenlift works

If you’re looking for an app to make money from your phone with very little effort involved, ScreenLift is a great option.

It’s one of the most passive income apps out there.

ScreenLift is an app that pays you by placing an ad on your screen each time your phone is unlocked.

The only difference is the ad – no extra button clicking and no extra swiping.

You earn money whether you engage with the ad or not.

This means that if you keep swiping and unlocking your phone like you do now, you’ll still get paid.

The payout isn’t much, but it’s pretty good for essentially doing nothing.

Expect to earn about $5 per month in passive income.

We recommend saving up points for higher payouts since their value increases greatly this way.

Screenlift is just one of many lock screen apps that pays you to unlock your phone.

All you have to do is create an account and leave it on your phone to get started.

9. Sweatcoin

how it works sweatcoin

If you really enjoy walking, Sweatcoin is the app for you.

This app literally pays you to walk.

Sweatcoins has consistently been rated number one on the app store in the US as one of the most popular money making apps.

Furthermore, people find that it convinces them to walk more and get more exercise in exchange for a little bit of extra cash.

So why isn’t this item #1 on our list?

Unfortunately, you won’t be earning very much.

Don’t expect to make a fortune, but you should be able to pay off for a couple of meals per month with it.

Not only that, but it’s free to join and you get paid for something you already do in your spare time.

You earn points in the form of Sweatcoins (SWC). You can use these points to redeem prizes such as sunglasses and iPhone charger adapters.

Each time you refer a friend you get an additional bonus of 5 SWC. An easy way to spread the word quickly is through Facebook or Twitter.

To start, create an account and leave it on your phone to make money passively.

10. Permission Research (Also Known As Opinion Square)

how permission research works

Permission Research (also the Opinion Square Company) is another app like MobileXpression that pays you for absolutely doing nothing.

Leave the app installed on the background on your phone. They collect information such as how many texts you send per day, what pages you browse, etc.

From there, collect an easy passive income.

And you don’t have to worry about your data. All of this information is kept completely anonymous so there’s no way anyone can link it back to you.

You won’t earn much from this app, but it is free money.

Like the other apps on this list, it doesn’t use up a lot of processing power or memory so you don’t have to worry about it dragging down your phone.

The great thing about these apps is that they can be stacked, therefore doubling or tripling your passive income.

Earn points for leaving the app installed and then exchange them for free gift cards.

11. Drop

 • Registration Bonus: $1 when you link your first card
 • Join Drop

drop review

Drop is another app that pays you to shop, but it works in a slightly different way.

When you first install the app, you’ll be asked to select up to 5 of your favorite retailers. This includes McDonalds, Starbucks, Nike and many more.

From there, you’ll need to link your credit card or debit card to your account.

Each time you make a purchase at one of your selected retailers using that credit card or debit card, you earn cash back.

Cash back is earned in the form of points that can be exchanged for free gift cards and other cash prizes.

There’s really no easier way to earn a passive income.

The great thing about the Drop app is that it works for both online and in-store purchases.

You can even stack Drop with Rakuten above and your credit card cash back bonus if you have one.

You get a $1 bonus when you sign-up as a new user and link your first debit or credit card.

There’s no need to worry about the safety of your credit cards. The Drop app uses advanced encryption technology to make sure your credit card information is 100% safe.

Expect to earn roughly 1% cash back on your favorite retailers.

This has to be one of the best cashback apps to make money online since it’s just so easy to bring in some extra income with it.

Still confused? Read our full Drop review for more information.

12. Dosh

dosh automatic cash back

The Dosh app works in a very similar way to Drop.

When you open the Drop app, you’ll be asked to link your credit or debit card. From there, you can choose one of the retailers that they’ve partnered with.

Click on the link within their app to open up the retailer’s page. Make your purchase like you normally would with your linked card, and receive cash back directly to your Dosh account.

When you reach a minimum of $25 earned, you can cash out for free PayPal cash.

The cool thing about the Dosh app is that it can be deal stacked with the above app, Drop.

You can expect to earn anywhere between 1% – 5% in cash back depending on the retailer that you shop at.

While you won’t be earning a ton of money, it’s still a free way to create some extra income.

Like Drop, you don’t have to worry about the safety of your credit cards due to their encryption technology.

Read our Dosh review if you still have questions.

13. SavvyConnect

how savvy connect works

SavvyConnect is a passive income program that’s a branch off of the site SurveySavvy (get paid for taking online surveys).

They collect information such as what you shop for online, what apps you use and what you use for entertainment.

For every month that you have the app installed you earn $5 or $60 per year.

However, you can install the app on a maximum of 3 devices (desktop, tablet, and mobile), earning you a total of $180 per year in passive income.

As a member of SavvyConnect, you’ll also be invited to exclusive, high-paying surveys from SurveySavvy.

Once your profile is complete, these surveys will be sent to your inbox.

A great way to make money online with SavvyConnect is to refer your friends.

Each time your referral completes a project, you earn a bonus of anywhere from $5 – $15.

For each friend that they refer, you can earn a bonus of $2 – $6.

The downside? They only pay by check.

Not only that, but at the time of writing this article you can’t install the software on a Macbook.

This app also comes with a browser extension to help you start earning even more.

14. Seated

seated app review

If you really want to earn money for something you already do in your spare time, Seated will pay you to eat out.

In fact, you can earn up to 30% by eating at one of their partner restaurants.

The reason Seated is able to pay you money is because they earn cash through promoting restaurants through their app.

When you check-in with Seated and go to one of their partners, they earn a commission and give a portion of this back to you.

Your rewards can be exchanged for free cash prizes such as gift cards to Uber, Amazon, Nike and more.

I recently took a look at their page and found that in New York City, they’ve partnered with about 50 restaurants in which you can get paid to eat.

You can sort by price, location and other features.

This is excellent for those who to start earning some passive income, enjoy eating out and want to save money.

What Should I Look For In Passive Income Apps?

Before delving into the world of the best passive income apps, there are a few important things you need to be aware of.

 • Never pay. If you ever run across an app that promotes free cash and requires payment information, it’s most likely a scam. All of the apps on this list are 100% free.
 • Easy setupPassive income apps are meant to be easy to install. If it looks like a lot of work to get going, it probably is. I personally love to make money on apps since it’s incredibly simple.
 • Low maintenance. Aside from the initial setup, there should be very little to work needed to maintain the app. Most of these on the list sit in the background while you earn cash. The only real work that you’ll be doing is cashing out for gift cards, PayPal deposits or to your bank account.
 • Drag on performance. Just because an app promotes a passive income doesn’t mean you should use it. If you ever find that it’s slowing down your phone dramatically and not worth the tiny bit of cash, uninstall it.
 • Sign-up bonuses. We highly suggest that you use as many passive income apps that you can. The more you have the more you earn. Yet it’s usually better to install the ones with registration bonuses first since you tend to get paid a bit extra.
 • Make sure it’s activeUsually there will be some indication that your passive income is currently active. If not, check back during the payout period and see if you’ve earned some cash.
 • Can you use multiple devices? Instead of using one phone to earn a passive income, why not use 2 or more? While it does sound logical, we have to be careful. Some programs do not permit the use of multiple accounts under one household. If they catch you, they have the potential to suspend your account.

Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve received numerous questions about these apps via email about these passive income apps.

I’ve decided to put them in a list of frequently asked questions in order to make things easier for the readers.

Is my privacy protected?

Yes.

All of the apps on this list submit your data in an encrypted form and anonymously. In other words, there’s no way to chase any of the information that you submit back to you.

How is it that these companies are able to pay?

By giving them access to collect data on your phone, these companies are able to collect information and sell it as market research.

Companies then use this information to help improve their products and services for consumers like you and I.

Why isn’t this passive app working on my smartphone?

You may run across the issue in which a particular app won’t work on your smartphone.

If this is the case, it could be because the OS on your phone is too out-of-date or your phone is lacking in performance.

We suggest buying a used phone or refurbished phone on Amazon Warehouse that’s of decent quality to support all of these apps.

Are These Apps Really Passive?

Mostly.

Keep in mind that in order to create passive income with these apps, you typically need to set up a free account and change some settings before you start earning.

However, once you get everything setup, it’s all passive income from there.

These apps are great! Do you have any others that you recommend?

We hope you enjoy this list, as we try to only list the apps that actually work. If you enjoyed this article, we also think that you’ll enjoy the following:

Which Apps Pay You?

The best passive income apps are by far ones like Nielsen Computer and Mobile Panel and the Smart App. That’s because you literally don’t have to do anything except for installation.

If you’re looking to earn a passive income, these apps have really helped me increase my side hustle money.

I’ve found that these apps can earn you $1,500/year in passive income if you install enough of them. That’s essentially a part-time job!

The best part is that most of the work just comes from the initial setup process. After that, just relax and watch the money roll in… passively.

Essentially you can turn your phone into a money making machine.

I also find that these apps are great for those who are unemployed and need to start making money fast or for those who just want find apps to make money online.

We hope you’ve enjoyed this list of the 10 best passive income apps. If you know of any other money making apps that aren’t on this list and should be, we’d love to hear about them in the comments below.

Finding the best rewards apps is becoming more and more difficult.

This is because there’s so many claiming you can make a lot of money when in fact you only make pennies.

Not only that, but it’s difficult to tell which ones are a scam.

That’s why we’ve put together this list to bring you apps that we’ve personally tested that we know are completely free, 100% legit and are worth your time.

10 Best Rewards Apps To Make Extra Money Fast

Below you’ll find a list of the 10 best rewards apps to help you make extra money online from your phone.

You’ll find a review of each app that covers how it works, how much you can make, why it’s worth your while and the pros and cons.

Keep in mind that these apps aren’t in any particular order.

We’ve even included a bonus at the end of an additional 15 apps that are definitely worth looking into for extra cash.

Let’s begin.

1. Survey Junkie

survey junkie number 1 rewards app

The only reason Survey Junkie gets the number one spot on this list is due to their high payout.

This survey site pays you free cash for sharing your opinion.

By sticking to higher paying surveys, you can expect to make anywhere between $12 – $18 per hour.

However, if you go with the lower paying surveys you’re not going to earn this high.

What we suggest doing is logging-in once a day and checking for surveys from Survey Junkie that are actually worth your time.

The great thing about Survey Junkie is that they always tell you how long and how much you’ll make before you start any survey.

For example, if you see a survey that only pays a dollar and it’s going to pay $1 dollars, skip it. But if you see one that’s going to pay you $5 for 20 minutes of your time, you should go for it.

Once you reach a minimum of $10 in your account, you can reedem your points for free PayPal money or a gift card to Target or Amazon.

Pros:

 • High earnings at $12 – $18 per hour
 • 25 point signup bonus
 • Lots of surveys available
 • Will warn you if you don’t quality for a survey

Cons:

 • Also plenty of low-paying surveys (you should skip these)
 • Depending on your demographics, you may not qualify for a lot of surveys
 • Only 3 payout options (Target, Amazon and PayPal)

2. Swagbucks

swagbucks registration

Swagbucks is a smartphone app that offers a huge number of ways to earn points (called SB) which can be redeemed against gift cards.

Most of the activities you can do to make money are things that you’d probably be doing on your smartphone anyway.

Their primary focus is on surveys, but you can also earn points by:

 • Playing games
 • Watching videos through Swagbucks Watch (their version of YouTube)
 • Making purchases at selected retailers
 • Searching through their search engine
 • More

The great thing about Swagbucks is that you receive a $10 welcome bonus just for signing up as a new user.

Unfortunately, this does not count toward your minimum cash out amount of $5.

My favorite thing about Swagbucks has to be their video watching feature which is essentially passive income.

All you have to do is click on the “Play” button and the videos keep playing from your browser or your mobile app without stopping.

Expect to earn anywhere between $5 – $12 per hour depending on the task.

You can redeem points for PayPal money or a gift card of your choosing.

Read our Swagbucks review for more information.

Pros:

 • Wide variety of tasks (more than almost any other small task site)
 • Passive income watching videos
 • Great earning at $5 – $12 per hour
 • Plenty of payout options
 • Excellent mobile version
 • $10 signup bonus

Cons:

 • Not as high of an earner as Survey Junkie
 • Takes some time to get used to since they have so many tasks to choose from

3. Ibotta

 • Registration Bonus: $20 after you scan your first receipt
 • Join Ibotta

sign up for ibotta

Ibotta is one of the most popular rewards programs on the market – and for good reason. It’s simple, easy-to-use, and a great way to save on grocery shopping and other everyday purchases.

Ibotta is primarily a cash back shopping app, which means you get real, genuine cash for simply making purchases from participating retailers.

You can also earn other prizes such as gift cards and coupons.

Participating retailers include big-names like:

 • Walmart
 • Target
 • Hotels.com
 • Uber
 • eBay
 • 7-11

Plus many more!

The way it works is simple: before you make any purchase, you check Ibotta on your smartphone to see if the product you’re interested in buying is listed in the current offers.

If it is, you can earn money on it.

Here’s how it works:

 1. Make your purchase like you normally would.
 2. Search for the product on the app and “claim it.”
 3. Scan your receipt to your phone and upload it.
 4. Wait 48 hours to receive your earnings.

Keep in mind that you need to purchase the item at the correct store in order to receive your earnings.

They’ve also also recently expanded into a cash back portal, giving you free money for shopping online.

The best part?

You get a $20 registration bonus after you scan your first receipt.

Send your referral link to your friends and get paid a $10 bonus when they sign up and scan their first receipt.

This company is constantly changing, so we suggest reading our Ibotta review for updated information.

Pros:

 • Fun way to earn
 • Simple to use
 • $20 sign-up bonus after you scan your first receipt
 • Constantly expanding for more ways to earn
 • 1,000+ items to claim

Cons:

 • When taking a picture of your receipt, you need to make sure the photo is extremely clear
 • You have to make purchases from certain stores to make anything

4. Rakuten

join rakuten

Rakuten (formerly Ebates) is one of the best cash back portals on the web.

They’ve partnered with thousands of retailers across the web to give you cash back.

Essentially, they’ve put the affiliate links to these retailers on their site. This means that each time you click on one and make a purchase at one of their partner retailers, they receive a commission.

However, instead of keeping all of this commission for themselves, they give the majority of it back to you in the form of cash back.

This is a win-win situation for both parties

What’s more is that they even give you a $10 bonus when you register as a new user.

Earn even more (up to $25) when you refer friends using your referral link. Use social media is a great way to share your link to your friends.

The downside is that Rakuten automatically processes your earnings only once a quarter directly to your PayPal account.

Still confused on how it works? Check out our full Rakuten review to find out.

Pros:

 • Excellent way to earn free money shopping online
 • $10 welcome bonus
 • Earn 1% – 20% in back on thousands of retailers

Cons:

 • Limited redemption options
 • You’re paid only once a quarter on your earnings

5. MobileXpression

mobilexpression homepage

If you really want to earn a passive income, MobileXpression is where it’s at.

This passive income app pays you just to leave it installed on your phone, easily making it one of the best apps for cash.

How it works is that MobileXpression sites in the background of your phone without using up a large amount of processing power – so little you won’t even notice.

From there, they collects data on things such as how long you make phone calls for, how many texts you send per day, etc.

They take this data and sell it to companies in the form of market research. In exchange, they give you prizes in the form of free gift cards.

Keep in mind that MobileXpression does not collect any personal information, so they won’t be able to see any of your text messages.

Stick with MobileXpression for a week and you’re automatically granted a free Amazon gift card at the end of it.

For those who are still confused on how it works, check out our MobileXpression review.

Pros:

 • 100% passive after installation
 • Low processing power
 • Free $5 Amazon gift card after the first week
 • Does not collect any personal information

Cons:

 • Not the highest earner among other items on this list

6. Fetch Rewards

 • Registration Bonus: $1.50 when you use promo code HH3MN and scan your first receipt
 • Join Fetch Rewards

join fetch rewards

Fetch Rewards is another receipt scanning app like Ibotta.

Take a picture of your receipt and claim your offers. From there, wait a couple of days (usually much sooner) to see cash back rewarded to your account.

The great thing about Fetch Rewards is that it doesn’t matter where you make the purchase. Just as long as the item shows up on your receipt, you can earn from it.

Each item is worth a certain amount of points. To learn more about the points system, read our Fetch Rewards review.

You can redeem your Fetch Rewards points for gift cards. Your options include gift cards from Amazon, Target, Best Buy, and more.

You can even redeem points for free prepaid Visa gift cards. Minimum gift card amounts start at only $3.00.

You can earn a 1,500 point signup bonus by using the link above or the referral code HH3MN.

The points show up in your account after you scan your first receipt. You’re also rewarded with 1,500 points for every person you refer.

Pros:

 • Lots of different items to earn from
 • Doesn’t matter which store you shop at
 • Earnings are deposited quickly into your account
 • Over 50+ point redemption options
 • $1.50 welcome bonus after scanning your first receipt

Cons:

 • Less options than other receipt scanning apps
 • Referral bonus is low compared to others on this list

7. Drop

 • Registration Bonus: $5 when you connect your credit/debit card
 • Join Drop

earn with drop registration

The Drop app was created with a specific target demographic in mind – millennials.

They’ve created an app that understands where millennials tend to spend their money and allow them to earn points for it.

When you sign-up for the Drop app, you’re presented with the option to choose 5 of your favorite retailers.

From there, you connect your credit card or your debit card (it’s completely safe).

Each time you make a purchase with your card at one of these five retailers, you earn free points.

These points can be exchanged for cash prizes such as free Amazon gift cards.

Here are some of the retailers and brands that Drop links up with:

 • McDonald’s
 • Starbucks
 • Uber
 • Chipotle
 • Cineplex

The great thing about Drop is that it’s super easy.

The only thing you really have to do is connect your card and shop like you normally would. That’s what I call passive income.

For those worried about safety, Drop uses high-encryption technology to make sure your credit/debit card information is safe.

Don’t forget to read our Drop review for the full details.

Pros:

 • Incredibly easy way to get free prizes
 • Essentially passive income

Cons:

 • Limited amount of retailers
 • Need to connect a card

8. Acorns

 • Registration Bonus: $5 once you complete registration
 • Join Acorns

automatically invest with acorns

Not sure how to invest? Acorns will do it for you automatically.

Acorns is one of the most popular robo-investor apps that invests your spare change.

When you connect your credit card or debit card, Acorns will automatically round up your purchase to the next dollar and put the spare change in your account.

For example, let’s say you buy a gallon of milk for $3.50. Acorns will round up this amount and charge $4.00 to your card.

The remaining $.50 cents is deposited to your Acorns account for automatic investing.

What If I Don’t Know How To Invest?

The great thing about Acorns is that you don’t have to do any of the investing work. This company helped gather leading financial experts to put together the perfect portfolio based on your risk level.

The only thing you have to do is deposit your money (or invest your spare change) and let them do the investing for you.

In short, it’s a passive income.

Keep in mind that with Acorns you are charged a monthly subscription fee ($3 is the lowest plan). However, it’s great for those who want to start investing but don’t know how.

Also get a $5 sign-up bonus when you complete the registration process.

Pros:

 • $5 sign-up bonus
 • Invest your spare change
 • Investments done automatically
 • Excellent for new investors

Cons:

 • Need to link your card
 • Monthly subscription fee (minimum of $3)

9. Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel

join nielsen computer and mobile panel

The Nielsen Computer and Mobile Panel is another passive income earner that helps you generate income just for leaving it installed on your phone.

Nielsen uses up very little space and processing power so you won’t even know it’s running in the background.

While it’s not the highest earner, you don’t have to do anything to make money from your phone.

If you have more than one phone, you can increase your earnings by installing the app on as many phones as you want.

For each phone that you have it installed on brings you an extra $50 per year.

If you download the app on two phones, that’s $100 per year, and so on (they may limit you after so many phones, but we’ve yet to encounter or hear about this).

You only need a minimum of 805 points (or $5) to redeem for a sweepstakes entry or a gift card of your choosing.

If you still need more convincing, here’s our Nielsen Computer and Mobile Panel review with the full details.

Pros:

 • Passive income
 • $50/year doing nothing
 • Can install on more than one phone

Cons:

 • Not the highest earner
 • No registration bonus

10. MyPoints

 • Registration Bonus: $10 (must first spend $20 through their shopping portal)
 • Join MyPoints

mypoints 10 dollar registration bonus

MyPoints is another comprehensive smartphone app which lets you earn points for doing all sorts of easy and fun activities on your smartphone.

You can get points for:

 • Shopping online
 • Reading your emails
 • Watching video playlists
 • Searching the web
 • Printing coupons and using them in stores
 • Playing games
 • Referring friends
 • Completing surveys

Once you’ve accumulated at least 700 points, you can choose to redeem them for travel miles, gift cards, or cash deposits to your PayPal account.

The great thing about MyPoints is that you’re given a $10 registration bonus, but you must first make a minimum of a $20 purchase using their online shopping portal.

(If you’re not sure what a shopping/cash back portal is, we explain the basics in #4 on this list).

My personal favorite task is watching videos.

While it’s not a passive income earner since you do have to click on “Play” for the next video, it’s an easy way to earn money. You can even earn cash by reading emails.

Check out our MyPoints review to get more information.

Pros:

 • Wide variety of tasks
 • High registration bonus of $10
 • Get paid to read emails (not common among rewards programs)

Cons:

 • Must first spend $20 or more to get the registration bonus

More Rewards Apps To Earn Extra Money

Although we’ve already covered the first 10 best rewards apps, we decided to throw in a bonus to give you 15 more.

The apps listed below aren’t as great as the first ones we discussed, but they’re definitely worth looking into to see if they work for you.

11. Checkout 51

Checkout 51 is a receipt scanning app that’s similar to Fetch Rewards. You have to buy certain items, but it doesn’t matter where you buy them.

Checkout 51 is updated with new items weekly.

At any given time, you’ll find about 40 to 50 different offers. This may not sound like a lot, but the payment per item is fairly impressive. The typical reward amount is $0.25 to $3.00 per item.

Checkout 51 pays through a paper check via mail. You’ll need to earn $20 before you receive a check. The company recently announced that they plan to add PayPal as a reward option, too.

Currently, there are no signup or referral bonuses offered by Checkout 51.

12. Ipsos i-Say

The Ipsos i-say is first and foremost a paid survey company.

Filling out the surveys doesn’t typically take long, and it can be a great way to kill some time whilst you’re commuting to work on a bus or train.

Instead of playing games, why not fill out some surveys and earn enough to pay for your lunch that day instead?

Once you’ve found a survey you’re interested in filling out, you first need to check that you qualify by filling in some basic information about yourself.

If you don’t qualify, you walk away with 5 points anyway – just for trying.

Points can be redeemed against prizes like:

 • A $5 Starbucks Card for 500 points
 • A $10 Amazon Gift Card for 1,000 points
 • $15 PayPal funds for 1,530 points
 • A $15 Target Gift Card for 1,500 points.

13. Zap Surveys

Zap Surveys is, as you’d expect given the name, another survey app.

Like Ipsos i-Say, you can use it to earn you a few extra dollars a day while you commute by answering some survey questions – but wait, there’s more.

Zap Surveys also donate a certain amount of money to charity for every survey you complete, which means that you’re not just helping to fatten your wallet, you’re helping other, less-fortunate people around the world too.

Even if you’re not interested in taking paid surveys, it might be worth downloading Zap Surveys just for their ‘location rewards’ anyway.

If you allow the app to access your location, you’ll occasionally get a notification letting you know that you’re near a store that’s running a promotion.

If you open this notification, you’ll be awarded anything up to $0.25.

As long as you don’t mind sharing your location data, there’s nothing to lose from downloading it, even if you’d prefer not to participate in surveys.

14. Pinecone Research

Pinecone Research is a survey app that pays considerably more than both Zap Surveys and Ipsos. For each and every survey that you fill out, you’ll earn around $3.

Even better, these surveys only take around 15-30 minutes each, meaning, if you could line these up back to back, you could potentially earn $6-12 per hour.

The only problem is that you almost certainly won’t be able to line up surveys back to back.

As you might have guessed considering the high pay rate, Pinecone Research is very selective about survey participants and you’ll have to wait for them to notify you that you’re eligible.

You can probably hope to be eligible for 1-4 surveys a month.

Once you’ve earned your rewards, you can redeem them for PayPal money or alternatively by check to your postal address.

15. Makeena

Makeena is a shopping rewards program that will help to thin out your waistline and fatten your wallet.

If you’re a healthy-eating enthusiast, it’s the perfect smartphone rewards app to download.

You earn reward points on healthy and eco-friendly products by scanning barcodes and submitting proof of purchase.

Here’s how it works:

 • Download Makeena and search for the kind of items you’re interested in (e.g organic) to see what’s available.
 • Add the items to your shopping list and go shopping for them.
 • Scan the barcode to register the offer on Makeena.
 • Scan your receipt to your phone.
 • Wait for verification and claim your rewards using PayPal once you have at least $20.

16. TopCashback

TopCashBack claims to be the highest paying cash back rewards program.

The reason they claim they’re able to pay out so much is that they pay 100% of the commission they receive from retail purchases out as cash back, without taking a cut.

This has earned them over 8 million users and, last year alone, they paid out over £40 million.

It works the same way as many other rewards apps: you browse the offers, choose your favorites, make your purchase, then snap a photo of your receipt.

17. ScreenLift

ScreenLift is one of the best smartphone rewards app as it allows you to make money completely passively.

It’s what’s known as a lockscreen app, meaning it changes your lock screen so that you have to view an ad each time you unlock your phone.

Each time, you’ll earn a small number of points which, over a lifetime of using your phone, will soon add up.

You can then redeem your points for gift cards or PayPal deposits.

While you won’t earn a lot of money, there’s essentially no time commitment or effort required on your part, which makes this one of the easiest ways to make money passively.

For more companies that pay you just to unlock your phone, check out our blog post here.

18. BeFrugal

BeFrugal is very similar – almost identical, in fact – to Rakuten.

They pay you to shop at participating stores by giving you cashback on the commission they receive. Like Rakuten, they claim to give out 100% of this commission to their users.

They’ve partnered with over 5,000 stores, so you’ve got plenty of options, and the minimum withdrawal amount is $25.

You can choose to claim your points via PayPal deposit, Check, or trade them in for Amazon Gift Cards.

19. Dosh

Dosh is another rewards app that allows you to earn cash back on common purchases like gas, hotel bookings, and more.

ou don’t need to dig around and find those receipts to validate your purchases, you just link up your card and the whole process is automatic.

If you’re a shopaholic, it’s definitely worth downloading it and linking up your card. It won’t take you more than a few minutes but it will allow you to save money on a lot of your purchases.

20. PointClub

PointClub is a well-known paid survey company that starts you off with a $5 bonus just for signing-up.

Each survey is worth a set amount of points, which you can redeem for rewards.

You can even earn points simply by logging in for certain amounts of consecutive days.

Our PointClub review provides plenty of helpful info to get you started.

PointClub rewards you through PayPal payments or gift cards. There is a $25 payout minimum.

When you sign up for PointClub, you earn a $5 bonus.

You get an additional $0.50 for entering your e-mail, Facebook, or Google+ details and $1 for confirming your e-mail address.

This means you earn $6.50 just for joining PointClub.

21. YouGov

YouGov is unique from other apps because of its surveys. The surveys are about news, current affairs, politics, and more. This makes them a bit more diverse than your typical marketing surveys.

Over 4 million people use YouGov, and it’s available internationally. You earn a certain number of points for each survey you complete.

You can redeem your points for PayPal payments or gift vouchers for Amazon, VISA, and more.

YouGov will give you 2,000 bonus points just for signing up. You may also get bonus points for filling out your profile.

YouGov also offers a 2,000 point bonus for every person you refer.

22. Inbox Dollars

Inbox Dollars is a GPT and survey app that has a broad selection of tasks. You can get paid to read e-mails, perform web searches, take surveys, complete trial offers, and so much more.

The tasks and surveys are typically low paying, but there is always something to do. This makes it easy to earn rewards quickly. Learn more by reading our Inbox Dollars review.

With Inbox Dollars, you get paid via paper check or gift codes to various retailers.

The payout minimum for all options is $30.

When you sign up for Inbox Dollars, you receive an instant $5 bonus. Every time you refer a user, you’ll receive 10% of their earnings permanently.

23. Quidco

Quidco is similar to the shopping portals above, but it’s designed for UK residents.

They are partnered with over 4,500 online and in-store retailers. Over 7 million people use the app, so it’s easy to see it’s quite popular.

The Quidco Google Play page says it’s possible to make hundreds of extra pounds per year. They state that the average earnings per year are £280 (about $380 USD).

You can get paid via PayPal or through direct deposit to your bank account.

The one-click design makes it super easy to cash out through the app.

Signup bonuses for Quidco change periodically. You’ll typically receive a certain amount of bonus pounds once you make your first purchase.

You’ll make £10 for every person you refer to Quidco. To get your bonus, your referral will need to spend £5.

24. CashPirate

With CashPirate, you earn rewards for downloading apps, watching videos, completing product trials, and more.

This app has a great 4.5-star reputation on Google Play, and it boasts over 100,000 users. You earn Pirate Coins for every app you download or task you complete.

You can choose PayPal cash payments or gift cards when you redeem your points. Some of the gift card options include Amazon and free Steam codes. You’ll need a minimum of 2,500 to start receiving PayPal payments.

CashPirate offers a 500 point bonus when you sign up. You also earn 10% of your referral’s earnings. On top of that, you’ll earn 5% of the earnings from people referred by your referrals. This is a pretty impressive bonus system.

25. Trunow

Wondering which app gives you money for gas?

Trunow is a must-have for any motorist out there.

The main reason to use Trunow is to get paid every time you buy gas.

You’ll get either 1% or 2% back depending on if the gas station is partnered with Trunow or not. This means that the amount you can earn depends on how much you spend on gas.

If you spend $200 a month on gas, you’ll earn between $2-4 per month, and probably much more in savings by finding a better deal.

Again, it might not make you rich, but why not save a little extra where you can?

You can also get free money and reward points for other gas-station purchases too, such as confectionary.
