Want to Make Extra Money Now?

We talk a lot about surveys on this because they’re such a popular way to earn money in your spare time without leaving the house.

The truth is that not every survey site works the same for everyone. That’s because survey sites all depend on current trends in the market research industry.

Like other popular survey sites that we’ve mentioned – such as Survey Junkie and Vindale Research – we’re going to delve deeply into Survey Club, one of the oldest survey sites on the web that also has one of the highest numbers of members from around the world.

If you want to learn more about Survey Club, you can click here to go directly to the site:

With that started, let’s get started with our detailed Survey Club Review.

Table of Contents

What is Survey Club?

Survey Club is a company and website founded in 2005 and based in Colorado that provides paid surveys to members.

As a member of Survey Club, you’ll be invited to surveys given by Survey Club partners that help shape their own research of products, brands, trends, and more. When you complete surveys, you’ll get rewarded for your time.

This site is one of the founding and longest-running survey sites and has millions of members in several countries.

Since the company also as partners from all over the world, this is, perhaps, one of the best survey sites for people in countries other than the United States to earn ample opportunities.

Who Can Join Survey Club?

Survey Club operates in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, and Australia.

This is good news for people in countries other than the United States who want to earn some extra cash online, as many of the most popular survey sites don’t have many opportunities for international users.

The age requirement is a little unclear and confusing if you poke around the site. In the FAQ section, you’ll see that Survey Club says you just need to be at least 13 years old with parental permission.

However, the Terms of Service mentions that you must be 18 to create a Survey Club account:

“Survey Club is concerned about the safety and privacy of all its users, particularly children. For this reason, you must be at least 18 years old to create a Survey Club account.”

Although you might be able to physically create an account at any age, I’d err on the side of caution here and stick to the 18-years-old requirement. You may not be allowed to receive your earnings if you don’t adhere to this rule.

How Does Survey Club Work?

Survey Club works with organizations and companies to help them find survey takers who can answer their questions.

The surveys vary depending on current partners and what they want to learn about. Mostly, you’ll be answering questions that will shape the companies or organizations’ beliefs, products, future practices, branding, advertising, and more.

Companies and organizations pay Survey Club to create and implement the surveys. That’s how Survey Club gets the money it needs to pay its members to complete surveys.

Basically, it’s the middleman between yourself and the businesses that provide surveys.

Occasionally, for in-depth studies or focus groups, a company may pay participants directly. You’ll always know whether your taking a regular or company-paid survey when you receive the initial invitation that outlines the details.

You’re never obligates to participate in a survey from Survey Club if you don’t want to. You get to choose when and how often to complete surveys and what types of surveys to complete.

Just note that you won’t get paid for any incomplete surveys or ones you choose to skip.

After you complete a survey, you should see your earnings appear in your account immediately. Survey Club will also let you know how much you can make from each survey when it sends your invite.

What Does Survey Club Do with My Information?

Your answers to surveys will go straight to the companies who pay for your answers for market research purposes.

Be sure to avoid giving away any personal information that you wouldn’t want others to know, as anything you say in surveys will go to the company.

If any survey will ask for personal information, Survey Club will notify you beforehand so that you can decide whether you want to continue.

When you sign up for Survey Club, you’ll have to give some identifying information, such as your name, birthdate, address, etc.

However, the company keeps this information safe from other members, partners, and people who access the site publicly.

Like most websites, Survey Club uses cookies to track what you do on the site and keep your personal preferences logged.

You can always disable cookies within your browser if you’re not a fan of the process. Learn more about Survey Club and how it uses your information by reading the privacy policy.

Pros and Cons of Survey Club

Survey Club has some great things going for it, but it certainly has some flaws to consider before signing up:

Pros of Survey Club:
  • You get compensated $0.10 even when you don’t qualify for a survey.
  • The $20 cash out amount isn’t terribly difficult to reach.
  • Paid focus groups through Survey Club can pay anywhere from $10 to $200 to give you high earning potential. You might even qualify for online clinical research studies that pay $1,000 or more.
  • You’ll know how long you might spend on a survey before you start it by reading the detailed information in your invitation.
  • Easy payment options, including Amazon gift code, check, and PayPal.
  • Survey Club’s privacy policy is helpful and detailed, and shows that it takes the privacy of your personal information seriously. You can even opt-out of emails easily on the website.
Cons of Survey Club:
  • You might waste a lot of time qualifying for surveys. Some members note that they’ve spend 15 minutes or so thinking they were completing the actual survey, only to find out that they were answering pre-screening questions and ended up not qualifying.
  • Many of the surveys you’ll qualify for are actually through other survey panels. You’ll get redirected to other sites to take the surveys, but get paid in your Survey Club account.
  • Spam can be a problem here. Since you get redirected to other sites, each of them can gain access to your email address.
  • It could take some time to reach your minimum $20 cash out amount.

What Do Survey Club Reviews Say About It?

Survey Club does have some mixed online reviews from people who are current or past members. One of the biggest complaints is that it can be difficult to qualify for surveys.

However, as a reminder, this is a common complaint for most survey sites, depending on your demographics. Some people simply have a tougher time qualifying for surveys than others based on their age, location, interests, and more.

Another potentially more important complaint is that many members say they receive a lot of emails from other survey sites as a result of participating in surveys here.

The reason for that is that, while Survey Club does have some of its own surveys, most of its surveys come from other research panels.

When you complete a survey from another panel, it, too, will have access to your personal information, including your email address.

One way to curb this problem is to create a separate email address for all survey sites. Check it when you want to check on current invites, while preventing the clutter from taking over your personal email address.

What Are the Best Features of Survey Club?

Survey Club has a few features that make it stand apart from other survey sites.

Helpful Customer Support

The level of customer support for any site is extremely important in deciding whether you want to join it.

You should always have easy and quick access to the support team to answer questions, help you work through technical bugs, or even to help with your payments.

One positive note that most members seem to agree on is that Survey Club has a helpful, responsive support team.

Unlike most similar websites, Survey Club even gives you the option to call by phone, listing its phone number right on the front page.

Or you can contact the support desk to receive a response via the ticketing system. Either way, Survey Club makes it simple for you to find help.

Filters to Weed Out Unwanted Studies

I like that this site has filters to help you find studies that you might qualify for more easily. For example, search by your state to find studies specifically in need of answers by people in that state.

You can also filter out surveys that aren’t looking for respondents in your age range.

Do you only have a few minutes to spare? You can even filter the studies by the estimated time it will take to complete them.

Shorter surveys won’t pay as much, but at least you can make sure you have enough time available to complete them.

Make Money with Other Survey Panels Too

This feature seems to be both a pro and a con of Survey Club, depending on who you ask.

Some people don’t appreciate that the site works like a matchmaker, sending you off to other panels instead of giving you all the surveys itself.

But, you may also like that you can find a lot of surveys from different panels all in one place. The good part about this is that you can become eligible for the rewards at the other survey panels.

Each survey you take at another panel will help you accumulate earnings for that panel, which could give you a bigger variety of rewards to receive.

Perhaps the biggest draw to this site is that you can more frequently have opportunities for high-paying studies over other sites.

In addition to lower-paying surveys, there will sometimes be opportunities for focus groups and clinical research studies, both of which pay much more than a regular survey.

Of course, these studies require highly specific demographics, so you may find that you never qualify for them. However, the option and potential are there to earn a lot of money by qualifying for one of these studies.

There are also several types of focus groups for fun and varying ways to earn, like:

  • Mini focus groups, which have just a few members and usually won’t take much time to complete.
  • Teleconference focus groups, which let you get in on a phone call to provide your opinions and get paid.
  • Two-way focus groups, where two focus groups watch each other and provide opinions on each other’s interactions, opinions, and more.

How Do I Get Paid from Survey Club, and How Often?

Survey Club has a minimum cash out amount of $20, which is on par with a lot of similar sites. It shouldn’t take you too long to reach that amount, especially if you check daily for new survey opportunities.

The only catch is that your $20 can only come from Survey Club surveys. Those from other panels will count toward your rewards at those panels.

Once you have $20 in your account, you can cash out with Amazon, PayPal, or a check. There are no pay dates to worry about or waiting periods. Just cash out when you have enough in your account!

You should expect to wait between three and four weeks to receive your payment, regardless of the method you choose.

How Much Money Can I Make with Survey Club?

Don’t expect to make a ton of money with Survey Club. Like most survey sites, this one is best for extra cash when you have some spare time.

Most surveys are $1 or less, depending on their estimated time to complete. You might have a lot of survey offers in your account, but you likely won’t qualify for most of them.

Let’s say you can qualify for one a day at $1, on average. That’s $7 a week, give or take a few, or $28 a month. If nothing else, you might at least be able to cash out your earnings once a month, which isn’t terrible.

How Can I Maximize My Earnings with Survey Club?

The best way for you to maximize your Survey Club earnings is to respond quickly to survey invitations that are created by Survey Club.

Completing surveys from other panels can increase your earnings at those panels, but you won’t make money with Survey Club by doing so. So, try to complete as many Survey Club surveys as possible.

You can also refer friends for extra cash, so I suggest taking part in the referral program. You get $1 credited to your account every time someone signs up with your link.

If you have a good number of followers on social media, it shouldn’t be difficult for you to earn money this way!

Is Survey Club Legit or a Scam?

Survey Club may not give you the most earnings for taking surveys online, but it’s definitely not a scam. The first indicator is that the site’s been around since 2005.

Most scam sites come and go quickly and don’t have anywhere near the longevity that this one does.

Second, Survey Club doesn’t cost anything to join and participate in, unlike some sites that may require you to spend money to earn more.

Furthermore, several members have shown online proofs of payment, which helps to show that the company does pay its members.

I also like the company’s Earnings Disclaimer. Unlike sites that promise you’ll make hundreds of dollars every month, this one makes sure you know that a steady income stream isn’t likely.

Browse the disclaimer and you’ll probably get a good level of respect for the company for its honesty.

How Can I Sign Up for Survey Club?

To sign up for Survey Club, visit the main site.

Scroll down a little bit until you see the ‘Participants’ section and click ‘Take Surveys’. From there, you can fill out your basic information to request access to the site.

After that, you’ll receive a link in your email to confirm your membership and you can start to fill out more in-depth information about yourself to help you get matched with surveys and studies.

Once you’re a member, you’ll have access to a dashboard that lists all current surveys. You’ll be able to see the estimated time to complete, type of study, and your potential earnings.

Choose what ones you want to complete and start earning. If a survey is through another panel other than Survey Club, you’ll also see this noted on your dashboard in the list of surveys.

Final Thoughts

Survey Club has been around for a long time, proving that it’s a worthwhile source of extra income for some people. Others won’t have many available opportunities for them, so success here is somewhat of a hit or miss.

Your best bet is to sign up, check the available surveys, and see if you qualify for them.

If you find that you’re spending more time trying to qualify than getting accepted to surveys and earning money, you might want to look somewhere else to be your go-to survey site.
