Want to Make Extra Money Now?

All followers of FFL will know by now that Perk is a company that develops reward-based apps for the average smartphone user. So far they’ve created 11 different apps. Yet with all of these apps available, it can sometimes get confusing on what each one does and how much money you can make with each one.

If you have just one or all ten apps installed on your phone, you only need one account to log-in to each one and Perk will accumulate all points gained from each and every app.

These points can then be exchanged for prizes such as gift cards to Amazon, deposits to PayPal, an iPad, and more. Users can also earn tokens and exchange them for sweepstakes drawings. 1,000 points is equal to $1 dollars.

Whether you’re just getting started with Perk apps or want a basic rundown of which apps are available, this article will provide a great summary of how you can earn even more money with your smartphone. Want to know in more detail about a specific app? You can find a link of our full review for each app listed below each number.

Table of Contents

1. Perk TV

earn points for watching movie trailers perk appPerk TV is by far the highest earner out of all of the Perk apps available. This app allows you to earn money by running video ads on your smartphone. Each video is approximately 2-3 minutes in length and will give you anywhere from 1 to 2 points in your Perk account.

The best part? You can leave this phone running for hours on end, meaning you don’t have to do a thing except watch videos and earn a passive income.  The only catch is that you have to press a button every few hours.

There’s a maximum of 5 accounts per household and 5 phones per account. Get 5 phones and you can expect to earn anywhere from $100 – $150 per month depending on your internet speed! If you’re just getting started with Perk apps or only have to choose one, Perk TV is the way to go.

2. Perk Pop Quiz

The next highest earner on our list is Perk Pop Quiz. Earn points and rewards for answering trivia questions. I usually have this one running alongside my Perk TV phones, especially since you don’t have to answer any questions to earn points, but can leave the app running. However, if you answer the quiz questions, you’re going to earn a lot more points.

If you let the app run on its own, you can expect to earn about 2 points every 2 minutes. The only downside is that you can only have one of these phones running per account (by theory), but it’s still a great earner to supplement your passive income.

In any case, this is a fun way to make some cash and learn some interesting new facts at the same time. With one phone on your account, this can easily pull in an extra $20 dollars per month, if not more.

3. Perk Screen

It doesn’t get any easier when it comes to making money on your phone with Perk Screen. This app replaces your current lock screen with ads. You don’t have to click on the ads and can swipe right to get to your main screen. Whether you view the ads or not, you’re still going to get the same amount of points.

The potential you can make with this app highly depends on the user and the algorithm that perk uses, so it’s a little difficult to determine. That’s why I recommend using your smartphone as you normally would instead of constantly unlocking your screen solely in order to gain points. You have to unlock your phone screen anyways, so you might as well get paid for it.

This app is only currently available for Android devices. For more details on earnings, read the full review on the link below.

4. Perk Browser

If you’re surfing the web from your phone, stop using your current web browser and get Perk Browser. Every time you make a search, you have the potential to earn points in your Perk account. You won’t necessarily be awarded points every time you surf the web, but at least you have the opportunity unlike a normal browser.

In fact, I was shocked at the functionality that the Perk Browser offers. It has a find function on the page you are viewing and the option to block internet ads. It’s based on the same technology as the Google Chrome Browser, so you know you’re getting something good.

The money isn’t very much with Perk Browser, but it’s a great way to add a little bit more to your income. You also earn cash for online shopping and sharing stuff with your friends.

5. Perk Shopping

If you’re new to the online shopping portal game, Perk will give you cash back in the form of points each time you make a purchase through the Perk Shopping app. When you use their links, Perk earns a small commission as an affiliate. Part of this money goes to you.

While this may sound great, I don’t recommend using this app for your online shopping purchases. Why? Because there are other shopping portals that give you a much higher cash back rate. Perk Shopping happens to be on the low end of the spectrum in terms of potential.

That’s why we recommend using portal sites such as TopCashBack and BeFrugal to maximize your online savings. Confused on online shopping portals and how they work? You can read more about them here. We don’t have a full review for Perk Shopping as of yet.

6. Perk Search

Very similar to Perk Browser, Perk Search pays you for surfing the web. The only difference is that Perk Search is made specifically for browsing whereas the Perk Browser pays you for browsing, shopping, and sharing with friends. If you want to earn cash for simply surfing the web, you’re more likely to earn more points using this app.

Perk Search uses the Yahoo search engine. While I’m a big fan of Google, Yahoo’s mobile layout actually does a pretty good job of keeping things organized. It’s difficult to determine when and how many points will be given to you for making a search, but at least you’re earning money for something you might already do.

Perk Search will award you for searching the web, Wikipedia, Yelp, and Youtube. What really surprised me is how fast the app runs on your phone, meaning your searches won’t be slowed down in the least. We currently do not have a full review on Perk Search.

7. Perk Scratch & Win

Perk Scratch & Win awards you tokens and points for playing mobile versions of scratch tickets. The only downside is that each time you purchase a ticket, you have to spend tokens. This actually is a great deal since tokens can only otherwise be used to enter sweepstakes (which are incredibly difficult to win due to the high volume of entries).

When you scratch a ticket, you can earn either points or tokens. From my personal experience, I’ve found that on average I usually win more than I spend. You can spend anywhere from 10 to 50 tokens on a scratch ticket. The more you’re willing to spend, the more you can potentially earn.

The payout is actually really good in terms of time spent. After only spending a few minutes doing a few scratch cards, you can easily make 50 points.

8. Perk Prize Mob

perk prize mobEver bid on Ebay? If so, you already have a great handle on how Perk Prize Mob works. It only costs tokens to enter a bid. If you are the last person to bid on a prize, you earn a prize. However, it’s extremely difficult to be the last person on a bid. This is because each time a bid is placed, a few seconds are added to the time limit.

What usually happens is that when there are a few seconds left, so many people will be bidding on the same item that it can take a long time before there’s a winner since the time is constantly increasing.

If you don’t want to use your tokens to enter sweepstakes or buy scratch tickets with Perk Scratch & Win, this is a great way to use them up.

9. Perk Live TV

Even though this is 9th on our list, in no way does it fall short on the amount of money you can make. Perk Live TV pays you money for watching TV. In fact, if you are watching TV for 10 hours a day using this app, you could make close to an extra $100 per month.

The only catch is that you can’t leave this app running. When you’re watching a TV program, Perk Live will listen to the show your watching. When a commercial comes on, Perk will award you points. Don’t want to wait? After Perk listens in on your program for a few moments, click a button to view ads sooner and earn points immediately.

Each ad is usually only 1 minute long and awards you 2 points each time. This is an excellent app for those who love watching TV. We personally rate this as the third best earner out of all the Perk apps.

10. Perk Word Search

perk word searchThe Perk Word Search App isn’t a very high-paying app, nor does it do anything special. The purpose of this app is to give pleasure to those who enjoy doing word search puzzles.

We don’t recommend using this app solely for the purpose of earning money due to the fact that the payout is so low.You can set your own difficulty level at easy, medium or hard.

There is an endless amount of word searches, and some words are so unique that you might end up building your vocabulary in the process, along with earning some money. Coming in at #10 is a good spot for this app in terms of earnings potential.

11. Perk Wallet

While you can’t earn any money from using the Perk Wallet app, it’s a great way to redeem your points and tokens for prizes. I recommend using this app to redeem all of your points – sometimes you might find a reward that you can redeem for a lower amount of points than from redeeming directly from another Perk app.

Perk Wallet basically gives you an overview of all of the awards available and is a great way to stay organized on how many points and tokens are available. A must for any serious Perk user.

What Phone Should I Get For Using Perk?

As mentioned above, specific Perk apps can be used as a passive earner. Simply let the phone run and earn some points. The only downside is that we can’t do other tasks on our smartphone at the same time. This is why we highly recommend getting a separate phone specifically for these 2 Perk apps.

You’d be surprised on how cheap a smartphone has become. The phone that we recommend is the LG Fuel. This phone will run for 6-9 months on end even after running videos 24/7, and it only costs $20 at Walmart or $20 – $30 on Amazon.

Final Thoughts

If you’re new to earning money on your phone, Perk is definitely the way to go. They provide a multitude of apps to choose from and the majority of them are actually fun to use. But most of all, they offer some of the highest payout rates.

Have any specific questions on any of the Perk apps above? You can read the full reviews on the links above or leave a question in the comments below. We’d be more than happy to help. Thanks for reading and happy frugaling!
