As a tutor, you work with students ages 4 to 12 in one-on-one sessions. You don’t need to speak Chinese to apply for this position. However, you do need to meet some educational and experience requirements.

Approved applicants go through a video interview and then hold a mock tutoring session. After this is done, you can start working as an English tutor.

There are bonuses available that increase hourly pay, and they’re based on participation and performance. You can earn up to $22 per hour.

Part-Time Or Full-Time

VIPKID does not limit the hours you can work, but most VIPKID tutors work part-time. The peak hours for tutors to work are very early in the morning. This matches up with the peak hours that students log on for tutoring sessions.
