Want to Make Extra Money Now?

Thanks to the internet, companies can now offer online jobs to workers outside of their city, state, and even country.

This means that you no longer have to commute long distances through traffic, work the typical 9-5 hours, and leave your home, family and/or kids during the week.

Companies benefit by cutting overhead from things like office space, supplies, and phone lines.

However, what companies have to gain from offering online jobs is not our focus.

Instead, we’re going to first discuss the benefits of working from home, then share 60 work from home online jobs that are flexible, and pay well.

So what are the benefits of working from home as an employee?

  • Zero commute means you can jump right into work without spending unpaid hours commuting to work.
  • Online jobs offer the ability to manage your own time and schedule. For example, what if you have personal obligations at 2 pm on a Monday? You most likely will be able to attend to it as long as you just get your work done.
  • The ability to maximize your income by working multiple online jobs, or freelancing on the side of your online job.
  • You are no longer obligated to pick a career and stick to it for the rest of your life. Working online offers you the ability to try different things and figure out what you really want to do while still making money.

Sounds great, right?

Without further ado, let’s get into the list!

Table Of Contents:

  • Customer Service Jobs
  • Transcription Jobs
  • Translation Jobs
  • Teaching Jobs
  • Admin/VA Jobs

Note: These are all actual online jobs, not just quick ways to make money. If you’re more interested in quick money, this is a good place to start.

Customer Service Online Jobs

If you want to stay at home, then working in customer service can give you the opportunity to do that. This will definitely be for you if you enjoy helping people and don’t mind speaking to multiple people in a day.

Customer service reps are in demand nowadays as more of the world shifts towards the internet. Customers would rather receive assistance over email or phone instead of in-person.

Since these jobs have a lower barrier to entry, you won’t need a college degree and the requirements are very straight forward.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to learn different technologies on the fly.
  • An internet connection, computer with virus protection, corded telephone (no cellular phones), and a corded headset.

Vipdesk

Vipdesk provides outsourced customer service by connecting companies with remote and freelance customer service specialists (they call them Brand Ambassadors).

The specific task of a Goodstarter is to remind, encourage, and offer support to patients during the first 100 days of their new prescription. You’ll do this over the phone, through email, and even handwritten letters.

I like this work from home opportunity because of how mission-driven your work will be. Healthcare is an important issue in the United States, and many older people lack the support and guidance on how to use modern technology and healthcare to their advantage.

Pleio hires in most states in the US.

Pay: The average pay is $14/hour and is based on the amount of time you spend on the phone.

LiveOps

Changes in the workforce are making the traditional brick and mortar call center obsolete. For this reason, companies like LiveOps have taken advantage of the opportunity and are now hiring work from home agents.

  • Retail
  • Healthcare
  • Insurance
  • Telecom
  • Direct Response Advertising
  • Federal Government
  • Travel & Hospitality
  • Roadside Assistance

To become a customer service agent, you must self-fund and pass a background check. Based on reviews online, I can gather that this is a contract position.

This means that you won’t be treated as an employee and have your hand held. You’ll need to troubleshoot your own issues and find solutions on your own.

Pay: $10-$15/hour or $0.25 per minute of talk time.

Teaching Online Jobs

Do you like to travel and/or work from your laptop in your pajamas at home? If you said, “yes” and “yes”, then online teaching may be for you.

Teaching online is a fast-growing job as the need for international teachers increases. For example, there’s a large demand for English teachers in countries like China since the world conducts much of its business in English.

You’ll also find ample opportunities for teaching other languages and subjects online like Spanish, math, and sciences.

Finding online jobs as a teacher can be a bit of a headache. You’ll most likely find yourself sifting through job boards where the majority of jobs are location-based teaching jobs.

For this reason, we decided to cut straight to the chase and compile a list of companies that are hiring 100% online teachers.

Here they are:

HAWO

If you enjoy building rapport with students and talking to people, then HAWO may be the teaching opportunity for you. Founded in 2011, their goal is to help Chinese students speak English with the world. They call themselves “the best and largest online English school in China” employing over 12,000 people worldwide.

They have two products, 51talk, and Hawo. 51talk is a one-on-one product, while Hawo is a group class product.

Through this company, you will meet amazing students who are intelligent, creative, and enthusiastic about learning English.

Online teaching can make it difficult to learn your students’ personalities and offer customized education, but HAWO provides its teachers with the tools necessary to personalize their learning experience and make learning enjoyable and comfortable.

Qualifications:

  • Native English speaker with a neutral accent

A bachelor’s degree

  • 1-year of teaching experience
  • Living with the United States or Canada
  • A commitment to teaching group classes at least 10 hours/week for 10 weeks (including weekends)

Pay: $18 per hour for a 45-minute class plus bonuses and incentives

This is a great job opportunity if you live abroad or want to make some extra money.

Landi

As long as you have a stable internet connection, Landi may be the work from home teaching job you’re looking for.

Landi is a smaller and much newer company compared to HAWO, but they are quickly taking over the English teaching space. Speaking of size, they currently boast a little over 1,000 teachers and 20,000 students.

They offer you the ability to work from home for just a couple hours a day as a part-time online teacher. They claim to offer superior support to their staff, which is believable seeing that they are a smaller company.

From reviews I’ve read online, teachers were able to manage about an 80% booking rate and keep a flexible schedule. The job is fairly easy, straightforward, and relaxed meaning you don’t have to worry about dressing up or impressing anyone.

Requirements:

  • A degree in teaching or a specialized subject.
  • Fast internet with a loading speed of at least 2mbs download speed
  • Passing a criminal background check
  • Living within the United States, Canada, or The U.K

Pay: Up to $18/hour with the possibility of a $2/hour bonus on some weeks for good performance.

The interview process includes applying online after creating an account, scheduling a video interview, and teaching a mock session.

The great thing about this company is that all of your lessons are planned and graded on your behalf so you can focus 100% of your attention on teaching your students. All classes are one-on-one, which can be incredibly rewarding.

There are four students per class and sessions are 30 minutes each.

  • A B.A. in education, a traditional teaching license, or alternative teaching credentials. It used to be that you can teach while being enrolled in college, but China is cracking down on online teaching regulations.

The booking system is random assuring that teachers get equal bookings and there’s zero bias. Teachers can expect to teach around 4 classes per day.

The on-boarding process for applicants is the same as VIPKid.

Contracts are three months long and can be renewed.

Requirements:

  • Native level of English
  • A bachelor’s degree or accredited certification
  • A computer/laptop with a high-speed internet connection, Google chrome, a webcam, and SayABC’s teaching platform.

On average, class sizes are three students and last 60 minutes each. All teaching material is provided for teachers based on the European Framework (CEFR) meaning you’ll just have to show up and teach.

You have full flexibility to design your own schedule based on a 24/7 availability of classes. The expected work schedule is around 5-25 hours per week.

The application process can be completed in as little as a week.
